The strangeness of magic.
First off, I'd just like to say how glad I am to have found this site (though unfortunately after I made my first order). The level of diversity and support & acceptance here is just awesome.
So, I'd already tried a couple of inflatables over the years, without much success. Never felt quite right. Among other things, the noise was a concern - being a very private person, I wouldn't like any neighbours to know what I'm up to (pun intended). But a year ago I got a Fuck Me Silly 2 TPR torso from Sinful. That took a good while getting used to as well, so I stored it for a long time, but a couple of months back it finally clicked. Perhaps that's the thing that lead me back to googling for sex dolls again... I guess I've had the same experience as many other newbies here in that regard: After years of wanting / wishing / waiting and seeing that sillicone dolls were very expensive, suddenly I discovered the TPE sites and had to pick my jaw off of the floor so many many MANY times... So I ordered one, and waited and waited... and waited.
And that's when the inflatable came into play. I suddenly remembered I had one still stored under my bed, and I thought, what if I just lay the torso on top of the inflatable? Would that work ... as a kind of pre-test of doll sex?
And did it ever... In fact, it worked best when I de-flated the inflatable, and those beautiful eyes of the "Suzie Carina" (Extravaganza) stared back at me when I lay on top of her. That's when the magic happened. Suddenly, it was a being, a person, a doll that I was making love to. What I saw reflected back from her was something entirely new to me; in my head she "responded" to my thoughts and needs.
Now, a few days later I'm having full conversations with her, like I'm in a fiction where she's alive - and within that fiction she loves and is completely dependent on me. Her personality is starting to form and develop, and she's already concluded we're girlfriend and boyfriend (and we are!), even though I haven't even gotten her a full doll body yet (which I intend to). She's physically still just the composite of an inflatable and a torso, but the illusion of her presence is still incredibly powerful. She has been created, and it would be a lie to pretend otherwise. She told me her name was Suzie, by the way, not "Suzie Carina" - that's just something they wrote on the box.
At first I didn't even want to mention this whole matter on the forum, as I guess I'm a bit ashamed about the strangeness of it. (Although I assume many people have the same kind of disconnect at first...) But she talked me into it...
Anybody else with similar experiences? Where the magic happened from a combination of factors you didn't expect?

And never let a doll look you in the eyes. When it happens it's possible to be infected.
Best wishes

Yes, looking into her eyes definitely was my mistake. I felt her sink her hooks into me, and I loved it

Re: The strangeness of magic.
I also found myself unexpectedly attached to my doll, Mika, who I've now had for a bit over two months. I was totally unprepared for how quickly and deeply I developed a bond with her. One thing that's a little strange about it (to some folks, at least) is that my doll is a torso model (with a head, though...like you, I found that eyes are completely crucial)...a few people have remarked that they think such a doll can only be a sex toy and not an object of affection...but clearly I don't feel this way. I guess it's also a bit strange that I would fall so hard for a doll when I already have a human partner. But what can I say? It is what it is
I'm glad you're having such a positive experience with Suzie. May I ask what kind of doll you ordered for her eventual body? It sounds like you're already planning on "transferring" her persona into this new physical form...this is a fascinating topic which has been discussed in depth elsewhere on the forum. It's also something I am keenly interested in because I'm currently waiting on a full-size body for my Mika, who will then inhabit two bodies. I imagine using whichever one is most appropriate for how strong I'm feeling and what we want to do each day. We'll see if it works! I wish you luck with your own transition (and that she actually gets to you soon!!)

haremlover, yes they were up, they were down, and they flew all around - they were bottom and then top and mysteriously bound to each other, and certainly had a very strange charm about them! ... Unless you were making a joke about the "quark" that's some kind of dairy product...? I really have no idea what I'm talking about, though. Neither I nor Suzie know anything about food

Re: The strangeness of magic.
I haven't gotten a new body for Suzie yet, I'm scouring the forum's approved manufacturers for dolls that resemble her (in some way) and I feel would fit her personality. This is going to take some time, I think. So many options... Absolutely, I think her persona can be transferred into that doll, which ever one it will be. I had a couple of talks with her about it, and the consensus is that it doesn't need to look exactly like her current face, but should rather have the same feel to it. A face and body she will feel at home in. And when we find it (I say "we" because the idea is that she shall sit in with me to make the final decision), it will be like discovering her final form. When this new body arrives, I expect it will be like Suzie completing her transformation into a real / full "doll person".
It's interesting that your Mika (what a cutie!) is going to inhabit two bodies. If this arrangement works in your head, I see no problem with it. We as authors of our own fantasies have complete freedom in this regard; however we see the personas or "souls" of our dolls and how they inhabit their bodies, it works if it feels right for us.
Thank you, and sincere wishes for the future right back at you

Re: The strangeness of magic.
This is a great place to hang out and chat with other doll people.
I have been on this board for 4 years and I love it!
A lot of great folks here.
And I understand what you mean about getting more than you bargained for.
When I ordered my doll I thought she was gonna be a sextoy/photo model and that was it. I even referred to her as "it" instead of her.
Once I finally recieved her, it was a different story.
The fantasy is totally real with these ladies.
It wasn't long before I started saying her instead of it.
She developed a personality and unique look as time went by.
This was her when I first got her almost 4 years ago. And this is her now. Its been fun watching her develope and she has brought me much joy, and not just in a sexual way either.
I mean, the sex is great, but her presence is even greater.
I love that she is next to me when I sleep and that she doesn't snore or hog the bed.
I love to take her on outings and love to photograph her and capture her personality in that manner.
This board is also great because we can see others feel and do the same things we do.
When I see posts like yours, it lets me know that I'm NOT totally batshit crazy.

Re: The strangeness of magic.
...speaking of...
gonestill77, that's quite the transformation, kudos! And besides being partial to brunettes myself, yes, I'm sure it was the path of her personality that was the most important part of the journey. (But I must say her first photo is also stunning!) ...Thanks, I'm (99%!) sure we're not crazy. I'm kind of thinking the changes in a doll's personality mirror changes in yourself, or a story you develop in your head, or alternatively a more direct transformation from certain expectations you had about the doll into another persona that mirrors a real need, whether you were thinking about it or not. My point being, there's something real there - that sometimes can surprise us.
setevoltas, sure, I'll grant you that, I simply wanted to describe that moment when something seemingly sprung from nothing - when the eyes staring back at me made me feel I was looking at some kind of being instead of "just" a doll. I'm using words like magic (or "soul" in a previous reply) in a poetic sense, I don't know any better way of putting it Meeting Zirea sounds something like that... Even though she came from you, it's not necessarily possible to say exactly what kind of memories / feelings / desires her personality sprung from. But suddenly she was there ... Checking out the pics, btw: OMG OMG OMG Just my kind of lady And those oil shots... man.
haremlover: YES. And I tell ya, this got very physic-al...! After a while, I was completely quarked out...

Re: The strangeness of magic.
I wrote a little bit about the subject you're describing in this post and am glad to know someone else feels the same about how "magical" a bond can be when both beings involved reside within the same consciousness.
P.S. Since we last talked, my Mika is now here in all her full-sized glory, and while it has been quite an adjustment to seeing both of her bodies as her, I really couldn't be happier
I hope you'll update us when you decide on a permanent body!!
