I also run a UBB board, and have opened html posts, but only after reading the warnings over at UBB security forum.
There are certain combinations of letters that can create havoc, and these certain combos can be placed in your "censor" admin area.
Sorry, cannot think of an example for you. I never placed any of those in my censor area, and have not had a problem.
Just thought I would pass that along....
