the lovely 165b, handicapped at right leg.

Post by Boopi »

Hi guys,
After less than 2 weeks of simple usage, just standing, being sitting or laying on bed flat on her back or in spoon position...
My lovely Momoiro is now handicapped at right leg.
Impossible to move it in anyway, what ever strength deployed, the right leg is ... Dead.

I have contacted my seller in France and he is trying to find a solution with the manufacturer.

I also contacted the 6YE representative here in the TDF to get some help. No response so far.

I seriously hope that 6YE will stand and help me.

So guys, if you are reading this and are wanting to get a so beautiful 6YE Lovely doll, be patient and see what the 6YE response could be when your love doll just be delivered and already handicapped.

I am trying to stay calm and not offensive against this brand.

Re: the lovely 165b, handicapped at right leg. Beware New Bu

Post by john1972 »

I would be pretty sad if this happened to me.
I have read stories of this kinda thing happening with other brands.
But also have read stories of joints breaking more so then freezing up
like yours.
Problem is if you try and force it to move then you may end up in that
same place with the others that have broken joint :(.

Good luck and hope to read good news about this soon.

I knew you meant it was not broken .
I meant if you force it you will end up in the same boat as those saying
it is broken ...
I think this is what happens often.
Something makes the joint stiffer or locked up and people move it and snap
that is all she wrote.
I would not put it past the company to send you a new joint and expect you
to change it yourself :(.
A job I personally would not want to do.
There are many here that own dolls that can do these kinda repairs but I
personally would not want to do such a repair.
Maybe a knee joint but the hip I would think is pretty thick there and would
require a decent cut to get into there.

The problem these days are there are so many doll manufacturer around
and some of them sell so many dolls its like a production line.
Mistakes and just simple things overlooked can result in things like this down
the road.
And with most of these company located in other country it is not like we can
just send them back and get them fixed or anything.

I would imagine the company will do what ever they can to help you with this.
Ill keep an eye on this post cause I am interested in seeing what is done about it.
Just remember this issue might be one in a hundred or more.
You probably just have bad luck like me lol.
If anything can go wrong it often does lol

My vendor is currently in negociation with the manufacturer, I just sent a video showing the blocked leg.
hopefully, that can be solved by a replacement body.
I'll keep you informed

Just a thought, here. Have you tried bending the lower leg at the knee about 90° and seeing if you can rotate the upper leg either clockwise or counterclockwise at the hip? That always works on my WM doll whenever the hips or shoulders appear to be locked up due to being rotated outside of their normal range. If that doesn't solve the issue then don't force it, obviously.

Rock's suggestion is definitely worth trying, unless you have been instructed by your vendor not to trying anything more while a replacement is negotiated (I hope that works out).

I had the same issue with my HR 165 (same factory). It took an ungodly effort to move her hips. I'm all for stiff joints but someone there may be getting a little carried away.

Another doll had an over tightened back joint that eventually snapped.

Yes I tried, but the lateral rotation is done at the knee itself, so it does not affect the hip joint.

Hi all, here is an update about Momoiro and her handicap.
The manufacturer accepted to replace her body, so she will survive !

Poor girl.
This would be a great time to learn how to fix those things I guess.
Better then disposing of her.
Or if you cant fix someone here on the forum could.

Hi guys,
many thanks for your contribution, having a so beautiful handicapped lovely doll is really frustrating.
But, the 6YE Manufacturer and my vendor Didier from France just sent me an update about the lovely body replacement being ready for shipping.

They have changed the body a little, without any additional charge.

Now the doll's body will make her travel to Europe, so many days to wait for her, but, 6YE and my vendor Didier have been really effective. So many thanks to them.

Stainless steal can gall with too much friction. When this happens nothing will fix it. The parts in contact are toast.
I've encountered it many times breaking loose stainless steel bolts. They feel like they've been welded together and must be cut apart.

True that, surgery is the only proven simple method that seems to work for non-ball jointed dolls
Any incision does not have to be that big with TPE (has a stretch factor of about 10x)
Cracking the nut or bolt weld lets the joint be loosened :)

Well, I guess you are right, I do not try any surgery at this point, because I cuddly my sweet doll, but an heavy intervention will be done when her new body will be received and 'assigned'.
Because I am a developer, I need to know and I seek for knowledge in any case.
