Re: New to The Doll Forum
Well, that depends on the buyer. I have two high-end silicone dolls presently and have owned a couple more that I sold. I have anotherDitto_Queen wrote:I have always wondered, is owning a doll truly worth it for the price tag that comes with it?
partial one on order, and I'm hoping to buy another at the end of the year.
So, yeah, in my case, it definitely is because I derive much enjoyment from them.
I also busted my hump most of my life and feel entitled to rewarding myself in my mid-years, so there's that. Some guys buy bikes and boats; I buy dolls.
But that is a good question, because playing with dolls is not for everyone.
If you like sex toys, that's a good start.

As has been mentioned, it depends on what you're looking for. If you're thinking of buying a doll, you might want to start with a low-end one. It should give you an idea of what you'd really like without spending a lot of money only to find out that it wasn't such a good idea.Ditto_Queen wrote:So like the title says, new to here, so Hello Everybody! How are you this find summer day? Also, I have always wondered, is owning a doll truly worth it for the price tag that comes with it?
Read through the various forums and see what people say about them, both good and bad.
"The two most common elements in the universe are hydrogen and stupidity." Harlan Ellison
"Dad says that anyone who can't use a slide rule is a cultural illiterate and should not be allowed to vote. Mine is a beauty--a K&E 20-inch Log-log Duplex Decitrig." Robert Heinlein

Re: New to The Doll Forum
For me the simple answer is yes. As I have said a number of times already, please browse the various forums here. Read the reviews and of course look at the pictures posted by the various members. We all have our bias and favorites. I started thinking I wanted one particular model and then proceeded to change my mind a number of times. Anyway happy hunting
Cheers

Re: New to The Doll Forum
You need to ask yourself, 'what do I want/ expect from a doll'?
Then you can after a little research match the doll to what you want.
Only then can you answer if that doll is what you can afford.
And welcome to the forum, we do hope you will enjoy it here as there is lots of information here for you to wade through.

Yes, for me. I suppose if someone gets a lemon, then the answer would be no. That's all very subjective.
There is an indescribable satisfaction felt in having them. Yeah, they're dolls, but they aren't just dolls; my girls are priceless to me. They are the corporeal vessels imbued with unique automanifested companion personas. The imagination has them taking on lives of their own.

Like others have said:
Ask yourself why you want a doll, do some solid research on the dolls, ponder the nuances of your financial livelihood. From there, it should be a simple matter.
Best wishes!

Only you can answer that.Ditto_Queen wrote: I have always wondered, is owning a doll truly worth it for the price tag that comes with it?
They are expensive (the high end ones). They require maintenance and care. They require attention.
You have to be able to get lost in them. They are and can be a lot of fun. I love having their presence around.
I am at 3 now ... one Harley, no boats !
