In the meantime, while waiting for her arrival, you can think how to store her.
It's the same thing that I have done!

Observing the crate, I understand that the best way for storage is suspended her.
But, as the crate is very deep, whenever, I would have to take weight her, for manage outside the crate.

Then I had an idea. I had an old wardrobe, that I could close or leave open, depending on the need.
I scratchbuilt a wood stand with wheels, in this way I can handle her very easy, and an high wood crane to lift her.
The crane has a nautical winch geared 12:1 to avoid efforts due to doll weight.

I no longer have to take weight her.

So, I can manage my Loly around the house, I can sit her, put her to bed, and even dress and undress her, without effort.
The stand put below the crane, with her legs on bed, to move her center of gravity, then occurs the "docking-undocking"

of my Loly, as you can see in these pics.

I hope to be helpuful. I solved the weight problem with this method.

Congrats on your order, RH! And that that is some great advice: figuring out how to store her. Anassilao and RaDiv are exactly right. One thing I might add...don't buy too many outfits during your wait. Although there are size charts on the forum (and lots of folks that can advise you on what will fit), you really should wait to see for yourself how difficult it can be to dress a doll. I didn't follow that advice and ended up returning a lot of stuff. Have fun!

I ordered a RealDoll2 Body A, Face A on the first week of march. It has already shipped and is due to arrive this Friday. I`ll be sure to take snapshots of the crate and uncrating for this forum. I haven`t posted before but I have been visiting this site for over a month before purchasing a RD.

The say I handled payment without a fax machine - I printed out the documents that needed to be signed and took a photocopy with my camera and uploaded it to my pc and e-mailed it to Abyss.

Anassilao: That stand is an extraordinary solution!

I was hoping to build something similar that could be wheeled through doorways. I wasn't sure if a stand like that could be balanced as not to be top-heavy.

I've been meaning to buy a welder. Perhaps a metal stand of similar design will be my first project. If not, I think a design of wood, like yours, is perfect.

I am going to wait to buy any clothes until after she arrives.

Does the silicone get sticky at all? One concern I have about clothing is that I wouldn't want the skin to pick up lots of fibers and lint. The last thing I want to do is have to rinse her off in the tub all the time. My hope is that I could kiss her without getting a face full of fuzz every time.

When she's clean, the silicone is insanely sticky--I have Indian Burns on my arms from the silicone gripping and rending at my skin when carrying mine around--the silicone is that sticky. That's what the baby powder is for! Use cornstarch-based baby powder (it's edible and what Abyss recommends). When she's freshly powdered, her skin is silky smooth! The only thing is it while make her skin a lighter tone for photography (especially if the her skin tone is tan or medium).

She has shipped! I'm so excited.

I was hoping to build some sort of rig this week. I went and looked at the selection of pulleys, hooks, and ropes/wires from the hardware store. However, I don't know if I should wait until she arrives before committing to a build. I've been reading the forums and learning about the variety of transport and storage devices other users have built.

I am pretty sure I will build something above the bed. I prefer her weight is supported during playtime. Adjusting a particular setup is somewhat frustrating and kills the mood. I hope to be able to maneuver her easily and safely. I wouldn't mind falling asleep afterwards and not having to worry about any accidents.

Aside from the rig above the bed, I'm pondering other possible solutions. I have an extra office chair. That should suffice in the short term for moving her around. I have a large walk-in closet. I'm thinking perhaps building another pulley support rig in there for storage. I'm considering doing something with the crate. I don't know if it will fit into the closet.

I'm just kind of thinking out loud here.

If it's not too much trouble, I would like to ask more experienced users to share their solutions for storage and easy movement. There are a lot of smart people on these forums who seem quite industrious. I would very much appreciate any ideas or suggestions you would have to offer.

I can't thank you all enough for... well... just existing. Doll ownership is going to be a wonderful edition to my life. Aside from the wonderful people at Abyss, I have the community to thank for not only the support in this thread, but for supporting the dolls. Without you, this wouldn't be possible for me. So thank you.

togheter with doll, inside the crate, you will receive a manual while is explained the best way for storage: leave her suspended.
The neck inside the crate sounds a good idea, but for hanging her inside it, it's necessary lift her on our weight, therefore the operation could be.... heavy.
It's depends on individual strength. Body A not is the heavier, and a person with a with a physical medium succeeds without problems.

Office chair sounds a good solution for manage her into the house, but it's very important a smooth chair, to avoid textures into silicone. And, in general, all chairs where you put her must be smooth.
A texture into silicone is hard problem, indeed, because not go away.

Best way to lift her is "married" position.

Anassilao: That website was very helpful. I've been learning so much via the experience of other users. I can't express enough how helpful this information is to a newbie like me.

I ordered a wall mount for a heavy bag (boxing). It's going to allow me to hang her above the bed during playtime. I'm trying not to plan too much before actually experiencing her in person... the weight and whatnot.

Smoke: I am so excited! These last few days are torturous! I've even stopped viewing porn so that I can adjust to the pleasure of a sexual experience based upon what I am feeling... versus just the visual stimuli.

I was looking at electric blankets online. Do any of you guys have any recommendations? I was hoping to spend less than $100. Amazon seemed to only have cheap ones with mixed reviews... or fancy ones.

Generally, unless she gets ice cold, I'm not too concerned about keeping her warm. I've noticed sometimes that the contrast between cool or mild (not cold) and warmth feels a little nicer. Warm feels good if I'm cold. But I'm not generally a cold person. I'm around 235-240ish pounds... a little fat, but in pretty good shape still. I can bench more than I weigh. That's how I rationalize not going to exercise.

I'm kinda afraid how I will react to owning a doll, I mean sexually. If I had a doll, I don't see any reason why I would want to watch porn anymore, but am still thinking I might?

Any advice from doll owners? What was the transition like?
