Teddy Babe repair service
Such a service is desperately needed by guys such as myself who aren't handy with such repairs.
Girlfriends are for guys who haven't found the right doll yet.
I feel much better now that I've given up hope.

Shoulder repairs. Both of Lexy's arms are kind of loose and I'm worried that they may become even more lose over time and end up falling off. Not to mention it being a bit of a buzzkill to be caressing her and feeling that gap in the arm/shoulder connection.
That seems to be a common problem with the design and there are a few threads on how to fix it. Unfortunately it's not something that I feel confident nor competent enough to attempt. That's why I was thinking that a repair service would come in handy. Not only for this but for Teddy Babe repairs in general. Especially for guys such as myself who if given a pair of steel balls, would break one and lose the other one.

Sounds pretty terrifying to me.
I can imagine the shipping would be pretty terrifying as well. Especially for such a large size box. I would be willing to deal with it though as I would have the peace of mind knowing that Lexy would be properly repaired.
The only way I would even think about trying to do such a repair myself would be if her arms begin falling off. I figure that my half-assed repairs couldn't possibly make the situation any worse at that point.

You know, that might actually work. Although rather than gluing the arms directly to the shoulders, I would get two wooden discs about the same size as the arms and connect the discs with a short bolt or rivet and then glue them between the arm and shoulder joint so that the arms can still rotate.

I was thinking about rare earth magnets. Some mannequin arms are held on that way. Full rotation and takes a bit of force to detach.Stewie studmuffin wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2024 2:23 amYou know, that might actually work. That would be a great idea as well.

Repairing the cutter pin is not difficult, getting to the cutter pin is. If you inspect the Doll's back, you will find where the thread line is different.
That is where the last operation happened. That is the way to get to the cutter pin. But if the problem is on the arm side, you have more trouble.
You may want to send an email to Dave at 8thW for his suggestion. He may send you some diagrams.
I found a diagram posted by someone, long time ago. Enjoy.

On the other hand Lian is getting so much of the infamous "TB Tan" lately and also the fabric will not withstand my daily cuddle attacks forever, I am way more worried about how to proceed if any real, serious damage should happen to Lian! Her size is no longer available, so I am actually considering contracting some artisan plush craftsperson to manufacture me a copy of her! I really wonder about their response, once they learn the nature of my "project"

I wonder, if something like a GoFundMe page for Lexy's round-trip airfare to Germany was set up... how much it'd bring in?

Re: Teddy Babe repair service
Hum. I just thought about the customs issue. I have no idea how to declare something for a repair and the return so that nothing has to be paid...
Another problem is my half nomadic lifestyle as of late. Since 2019/20, after I built my own camper van, I started living inside it. So there is not quite the solid address I could provide. Plus my current employer is a huge company, pretty probably I'd receive an opened parcel if I had it shipped there. That would be some fun talks...
Also I would give the shoulder joints the full treatment. I would most certainly replace the MDF disks with something waterproof, Lian got thick silicone rubber disks (softer but more shoulder gap), or I could use some stainless steel washers or rounded plastic discs. Or a combination of those.
Also I would use something better to replace the pin. Iirc I used an eye bolt (sry, too lazy to look it up), but a stainless steel bolt with a through bore is another great option, and stainless steel nuts or rather locknuts are a must, too.
If things were getting serious here, I'd start some investigations on how to overcome the mentioned obstacles. Whack me with something solid if I am absent for too long again and miss the news in this thread

skin chances color from time to time, depending on the supplier, so the patching might not match.
