No More Wigs

Hey, hey!! Things are looking up with WM. I got an email today about this new feature. No idea as to the cost but it looks promising, especially for those of us who like pubic hair for realism and tire of fitting a merkin.

While I think this is a really cool option... unless you are using your doll strictly for photography this would not be practical since while the hair is implanted there is nothing really holding the hair into the head of the doll. My concern would be that the hair, whether synthetic or real is going to break and shed just like on a wig. Eventually, leading to doll baldness and then you're going to have to spend money on a wig anyway.

I guess that would make styling of hair much more versatile as wigs have certain limitations, but I'm concerned about durability also. When she becomes partially bald due to loss of hair then what, just shave the rest off and go back to wigs again? :D

Part of the fun of dolls is being able to change their hairstyle as often as you want. I guess this could be her "real" hair and you could fit a wig over the top if you wanted something different. I kind of like the cute bald look on the dolls when they don't have a wig on, though. When mine is "sleeping" she often has no wig, which is part of her "doll downtime" look.

Not to sound negative or sarcastic here, but I don't want to have to attend a beauty school in the hope of becoming a competent hair stylist. Wigs are an inexpensive way to get a variety of styles and colors with minimum effort. For my money, I'd rather pay an additional $300-$450 to have articulated fingers made out of nylon (like Barbie elbows) with ball joints (like Barbie's shoulders) at the 1st knuckle or some other more profound improvement.

I'll add a positive opinion here and say at least with this option the doll will actually have parting hair line which adds to its realism.
Obligatory Statement: In my opinion.

For the record, I did do that and never saw the thread link, so thanks for finding similar and merging.

Just delete the duplicate I posted.

If the doll spends most of the time in bed, then the hair will need a LOT of maintenance. Id rather spend the money on a decent pair of hands that would last longer than a month. My 2p.

Not having to worry about my doll's wig staying on?... I like this idea.

I have one implanted hair head and the pros are that it is more realistic and have more style options. The cons are that it could be dangerous to use in bed (tangles), maintenance, and stuck with one color and length.

I say this will be good for photography, but probably not great as a primary companion for most. I guess when the hair becomes a problem, buzz the hair and switch to wigs.

I agree with others that I would rather have the option for great hands. This had been our primary request for years.
