Got her out of them immediately and used a DIY toothpaste stain technique. It's not as good as Indigo20's stain remover, but it does lighten the stain some, followed it up with baby oil around the stain, and let her rest. Needless to say, she won't be wearing that pair of panties again. Which is a shame, I loved how the black showed up under her skirt in a few of the shots I got.

Anyway, I've used this technique on a test piece that got pretty badly stained from fabric testing and I can't even see the stains on it anymore. I have faith that Maaya's stains will fade eventually. Also, after this incident, I ordered Indigo20's stain removal cream to have on hand in case of another accident.

Not sure if any of this helps your case, since Eve is sili and Maaya is TPE, but I hope your girl gets well soon.

Thanks kojima! If there is a next time may try toothpaste. I shoulda looked at the shirt. It felt like cotton but turned out to be 95% polyester. Polyester can be bad for dolls and shedding dye.
Did you wash the panties a few times before you put them on her? All clothes should be washed a few times before going on doll ladies. Cotton items are usually low worry but polyester and some others are high worry.
If you like those panties, soak em in skalding hot water for a bit and see how much dye comes out. Repeat process till you get no dye in the water.

Hope it does go away in 5 days. Thank you for telling me that. Always good to hear from someone who has the same doll lady. Do you know how long you had that shirt on her for? I had the offending garment on Eve for a couple weeks off and on, it was sleep gear. Wish I had noticed sooner.

:glou:[/quote]

She wore the staining shirt for couple of days.
But she was new. I calculated 5-7 weeks old from the mould at that time. Yours at 2 year old may take somewhat longer healing. Keep us posted.

It was a tip I picked up here on the forum. They recommended Arm & Hammer Advanced White w/ Baking Soda. I don't think it's a true replacement for Indigo's stain remover, but it works in a pinch to at least lighten the stain. I have Indigo's remover on order and just waiting for it to arrive. Ultimately, I think time is one of the best remedies here, though. It's been about a week since Maaya's stain and it's almost completely gone. Not sure if the toothpaste continued to work after or if its the nature of the TPE to eventually dissipate the stain, but there ya go.

And yes, I washed it, but I didn't think to check the materials. Polyester is supremely nasty at staining.

I'm not sure if alcohol is right for silicone, surely baby oil (mineral oil) is said to be harmful.

Check which curing method is ment form TPE, and which for silicone - don't rush.
5 days? Nice.
I was trying to get rid of it faster and failed. It was worth a shot though. The baby oil was a desperate measure. It wasn't on her long and it did take the stain down some. I washed the baby oil off quickly with rubbing alcohol. Alcohol is ok for silicone, just not as a regular cleaning method. Only for deep cleaning and not often.

I know baby oil is bad, so I won't use it again since it didn't remove it completely. I was just desperate and freaked out. Had her almost 2 years and this is the first time this happened.

Hope it does go away in 5 days. Thank you for telling me that. Always good to hear from someone who has the same doll lady. Do you know how long you had that shirt on her for? I had the offending garment on Eve for a couple weeks off and on, it was sleep gear. Wish I had noticed sooner.

Update....

Its been a little over a week and the stain has faded a lot, but not totally gone. I'm guessing by this time next week, you will never know it was even there.
Good

Polyester is the devil when it comes to doll flesh.
Cotton and nylon are good even with some spandex mixed in, but be VERY careful with polyester. Its not for longer term wearing.......

My dolls have simiular stains they don't bother me at all neither do the broken fingers It's not a big deal to me because me and my dolls play when the lights are out with just the tv light on or a laptop in the background so I don't even notice.

Well this is good news! Nearly 2 years from the mould and the doll still retains its self-healing quality.

That's the beauty of PS - a lot of stains go away after a few days. I've just used alcohol to rub it out a little and the rest just goes away on its own.

UPDATE...... 8O

Its been about 3 weeks and the stain is almost completely gone. You can't even really see it it the photos, but you can see it in reality. Maybe its just because I knew it was there to begin with.
So glad she is platinum silicone and this goes away.

Like you said, the stain could be magnified in your own view like a scald. My SH 145 stains were in high pressure areas, and then I did put her laying on her stomach, nude, to ventilate the skin. (As an a-cupper she occasionally sleeps like that with soft pillows)
Eve is a well-maintained girl and looks good as new!
