I just got some Silk reflections thigh high stockings for my WM doll but it has these clear silicone bands.

I was just wondering if it's safe for TPE? I do have 1 or 2 pairs of bras that have that on the band and haven't notice any damage on her back but I just want to be safe.

Not noticed anything. I’ve used it a few times on the dolls for some photoshoots, but they have only been worn a few hours each time. The long term effect would have to be tested.

Yeah once I powered her leg to test one out the band wasn't sticky anymore and it seemed fine after that.

I thought about just rolling down the band for long term use just to be safe.

Don't know about the long term effects on TPE, but the bands left permanent marks on the legs of my fiberglass mannequin. Although, the stockings are quite tight on her. Suppose that's also a factor. Silicone aside, I should think stockings like that would leave compression marks in TPE after a while.

Everything that is very tight will leave compression marks on TPE, but compression marks disappear. The question is how does the TPE react with the silicone over time.

I think this is a case where it can be different with different brands, since the formulas and overall material can be different. I'd suggest to make individual tests for each to be sure. I'd still avoid extended contact with it though. You can put something in between, like a piece of cloth.

I agree with all of you. I have had these from yandy.com and I have had them on the girls but never more than a few hours. As stated above, Don't know long term and anything tight will leave compression marks, but will go away over time. IG

My silicone doll got black stripes from the silicone band. The stockings were brown.

My silicone dolls wear those kind of stockings very often, and often for a long time. Never had any issues from this.

One of TPE dolls wore a pair of pink net stockings with silicone bands for quite a long time (weeks) without any problem.

Still, always be careful and keep checking if everything is fine.


P.S. TPE doll wore dark blue stockings with silicone bands for about two days, the dark blue stained, the silicone bands didn't.

I've always just used black stockings on Hanna, not the hold-up type. They're perfectly fine and don't fall down so you don't really need the silicone band in them. Never had a stain from them either and they have been on her for weeks at times. (I like 'em in bed)

in the description they didn't say silicone band so that's why I bought them but when I found out they did is the reason for this thread.

I figured it would just have a elastic band and it did say tights closure. Oh well they weren't expensive

Try them, but check often if it's okay. I guess it will be okay -but disclaimer ...

Some of them do stain dolls so be aware of that. I wouldn't wear them on excpt for play and photograghs.
