dollforum.com tab on Chrome hogging enormous amounts of CPU

Starting today, dollforum has started to take a lot of CPU from my computer. Even after closing the tab and restarting Chrome, after awhile, my computer will have a high CPU usage again. The CPU temperature also rises up to 80 degrees Celcius. Chrome's Task manager shows that dollforum tab is always the culprit. Even when I'm not really having the tab active. Just idling in the forum.

This indicates that something on this site is actively demands resources and calculation. I've used dollforum daily for awhile now and this is the first time this has happened on the site.

Could be a sign of some hacker using the site to mine bitcoins, could be my chrome extensions going haywire (but they're listed as separate and not demanding CPU), could be something else. If no-one else is having these issues, it would be a me problem. So if anyone else has noticed issues of computer slowing down when using dollforum today, please do share.

We didn't change anything today. If someone else also experiences problems, please let us know.
Today I browsed TDF using FF and IE/Edge without any issue.

Knowing Chrome I would say the issue is probably them,...most likely a memory leak (which not all people get with the same version, so making them difficult to rule out/fix).

I usually have TDF open in FF (I have both browsers open with multiple tabs permanently) and have just tried TDF in Chrome...nothing unusual going on for me.

Yeah it's not uncommon for Chrome to start leaking memory after awhile and many tabs open. But it is taking all the available CPU. Usually restarting Chrome will fix any memory leak/CPU issues for at least a week. Today it only takes couple of hours and only the dollforum-tab is hogging the CPU resources.

I'm a Mac user so no svchost. Only resource hog is Chrome.
