Netwit is Dali

After more than six years of being active at TDF, our assistant manager Netwit decided it's time for a change. A name change.
From now on his screenname is Dali, a reference to Salvador DalĂ who is on his avatar for years.
Don't be confused, as Dali is still the same. Thank you Dali and please keep up the great work!

Hello Dali
This is Mis-ter Dali
It's so nice to have you back where you belong
You're lookin' swell, Dali
I can tell, Dali
You're still glowin', you're still crowin', you're still goin' strong

(Now that you all have that song going through your head, go back to your weekend! :) )

I never realized your avatar was Dali. I recently saw a fascinating documentary about Alejandro Jodorowsky's attempt to make Dune into a movie. Salvador Dali was going to play the emperor! Jodorowsky failed*, but the art and concepts inspired many other movies - some made by the team he assembled.

*David Lynch eventually did make a Dune movie, but that was later.

It's a pity that the version with Dali in it wasn't made. The one directed by Lynch was dreadful.

Yeah - I would love to see that! They're making movies with pretty convincing computer-generated dead actors now, so I guess it's technically possible...

It would even be cool to have a copy of Jodorowsky's book of Dune storyboards (if it was in English).

"Jodorowsky's Dune" is a GREAT documentary, and (spoiler alert) the final segment goes point by point through the scenes and situations he envisioned, showing how they were adapted for, or validated by, the next few decades of science-fiction films ("Contact," "Alien," and many others). It's brilliant. Here's hoping that the storyboards are published as a book some day!
