Ok here's a sneak peak of a new gal that will be joining us a little later this summer. I wanted to get another YL148 body for Sarah while I do a series of repairs/upgrades to her existing body and it made sense to get a head at the same time. This is just my rationalisation for getting a 188 head! So the net result will be a seventh gal providing the repairs go ok but I've no reason to think they won't as it's basically a tightening up of an elbow joint and then I want to insert stiffer wires into the fingers so they are not so floppy. This doesn't need a big incision and others have done it with success so that's the plan. So here's the new gal, no name yet, that will come when she gets her body I guess! ...

Nice addition to the family Arthur! The lips on the 188 head are great. I look forward to when you name her and formally introduce her to the forum .

Do you have a number one doll? I have a few dolls myself even though I don't show them all on TDF. I didn't want to, or try to have one doll be more loved than the others, it just happened. I went on vacation and while separated from all my dolls I found that the only one I truly missed was Maddie. She kind of chose me, she just wedged herself into my thoughts.

Hi Metricnut, I can easily see why Maddie would be your sweetheart as she is just lovely. For me it has to be my Sarah as she was my first gal back in 2016 and if it wasn't for her then I wouldn't be where I am now. I realise that the whole thing about getting her another body while I work on her existing one is illogical but when I made a small incision in her elbow to look at the joint recently I actually hated doing it! It's quite odd in a way but I couldn't shake the feeling and giving her another body to use is just as odd which is why it had to be another YL148. I am hopeful that I can get the work done ok, I've used TPE filler before successfully, so she can then get her original body back. I guess once you go so far down the rabbit hole with this life style then these sort of feelings become inevitable. I was actually talking to a journalist recently who is working on a piece that looks at people using love dolls for things other than just sex and I was trying to explain that whilst my brain knew Sarah wasn't a real person still, to me, she wasn't just a 'thing' in the same way that my car was. We agreed that this is partly down to her being a fairly realistic depiction of a woman but of course for me the biggest factor has to be the intimacy. I still remember our first time when Sarah had already been with me for a few weeks I think, when I finally relaxed, that was an incredible experience and I think I was just so surprised that it could be like that with a synthetic gal! Since then it's even got better and that is the thing that really cements the bond I'm talking about. Sarah has made me feel good, so often, that she has earned her place in my heart and I'm left feeling very protective of her. I'm sure that this is something that non doll owners struggle to understand, indeed I would have had trouble with it myself a few years back but I am where I am now and don't regret a bit of it, I just wish Sarah had moved in a few years earlier then she would have saved me from a few disappointing dates when I was still actively looking for a RG!

Ho nice choice Arthur, her face is awesome and you and I both know how the YL 148 body ROCK. I said many time that I would buy a new YL 148 body "release 2" if WM would come with a brand new skeleton. Something like fully ball jointed, articulated bone fingers, gel insert ... and so on.

Me too Jael starts to show some age and all her fingers gave up. Could you link here the thread you will folow for her fingers repair please? I saw few passing by in the last few weeks, but not sure if one recipe was proven better than others. I am mostly interested in which material we can replace the wires with and how to solder those to the hand plate.

I know what you mean about caring for your girls.
My Tiffany has the broken finger problems and I need to fix them, but I'm holding off for now.
Part of me doesn't want to hurt her by cutting into her hands.

It was the same when I got the new MF eyes. I actually apologised to her for taking out her old eyes and said to her that I would be quick replacing them.
It's bonkers I know, but it is what it is.

Hi Babel99 and djcdoll, re finger repairs, I've recently been following RGC_0767 thread, Simple finger replacement. Its particularly useful as he learned from doing his first hand and made some simple changes to make it better. Using the end of cotton buds glued to the finger wire ends is a simple yet effective way of preventing finger pokes. I've watched the late and great CrazyCajun's hand repair videos and they were very helpful as you can see that you don't need to make a big incision to do this. As for Sarah's hands, she actually only has about 3 of her fingers where the wire has snapped at the palm plate but being over 2 years old, she has the thinner finger wires pushed into narrow coils which are cemented into the palm plate. Over time this design seems to lose a lot of rigidity and so, as we all know, the fingers become floppy. The newer, thicker, fingers don't seem to have this particular problem although they can still snap at the palm plate. Anyway, when I get around to doing any work, including Sarah's elbow joint and using tpe filler I will post pics on here. With the elbow, I will have to cut the spot weld on the nut which I'm guessing I will have to remove and replace with a locking nut otherwise it will soon work loose again. Going back to how to seat the finger wires into the palm plate, ideally I would like to do what CrazyCajun did by creating a new palm plate with individual screw points so each finger wire was tightly secured with a small screw just like the wire in an electrical plug but I may just try and utilise what's already there, depends what I find when I go in!
