As a U.S. Air Force veteran... I truly appreciate the sentiment. However, people need to know the difference between Veteran's Day and Memorial Day. Memorial Day, celebrated on the last Monday in May, is to honor and remember those who gave their lives while in the service of their country. Veteran's Day, celebrated on November 11th, is to honor all who have served, but completed their term(s) of enlistment. Armed Forces Day, celebrated on the 3rd Saturday in May, is to honor all who are currently serving. They are not veterans until they are separated from active military service. This is a subject very frustrating for many of us who have and are currently serving. I do not intend to embarrass or chastise anyone for this error. I only wish to educate and explain. On behalf of veterans and active service members everywhere, please, thank us on our appropriate holidays and reserve Memorial Day for those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Here's wishing all of you a safe Memorial Day weekend.

Thanks for your comment, we really appreciate your feedback and input, and thanks for helping the community to understand better. We truly want to honor both who gave their lives for us and the ones who served to protect our freedom :)
