What skin tone

Post by dollylamma »

When considering the life of a doll. Does one skin tone have an advantage over the other with Tpe?
Such as color matching heads? Stain resistance?
Photos ect.

Does anyone find the light brown too dark?
It hard to tell from many of the pics since so much photo editing is involved?
Thank you
DL

I'm glad you posted this. I have white, natural and tan skin tone dolls. So here is my insight, the tan appears the most realistic because you can see the details of the sculpt such as the hands, feet, privates. If I dim the lights she does appear much darker and the tan seem to be an intense tan. The head looks far better in tan. There is a downside to this tho, since the details can be seen easier this means rips, tears, wear will easily visible on a tan doll. On a white or natural skin the wear, rips, etc is not as obvious.

I'm really not sure which I like better. If I have to buy another doll I may just go with white.

Anyone with tan dolls can share their experience??

i have the tan skin color i think it's light brown but am not sure , it's mostly about your personal preference , as far as i know the skin color makes no difference as far as fade resistant . i wanted a doll with a tan skin like she had a suntan , and also later i plan on trying to use make up to make the tan body look like it has white tan lines on the tan body .
The pale bodies look nice to as i said its all a matter of personal taste choose what you like better ! :)

Thank you all
Tootsie your info is very helpful!!

Many of the used dolls I see are tan. Not too many natural.
Most look very dark and yes the damage to them really stands out.
Also the inserts look very white in a tan doll.

For some reason I really think alot of its about who the skin is on, I personaly think a tan girl is very sexy. But for some reason I think that an oriental girl looks better in a natural skin tone.
