FYI Abby is a completely 3d printed doll now. There is no MSB left in her.
Some of her parts fit the MSB, so this thread is kind of an off-shoot so to speak.

Although I think Samara has me beat by a long shot.

Looks like the downloads have stopped at 14, so I though I'd bump this a little.
As I mentioned before, if anyone out there is doing this I'd love to hear how it's going, positive or negative.

Doll part.

Lack of size perspective.

Center bolt can be just a holding device or a pivot point for the 2 spheres.
Is that bolt a 1/4" or 2" bolt?

RK you were way off on the bolt size, lol. It's a #8 x 32 x 1" panhead screw with a nylok nut.

Just make a simple "Y" cut in the leg and glue this joint in.
140 degree bend. You'd see the edges of the cut on the lower leg but with some knee socks should be OK.

Hey, the works very nice. Easy to install too.

I may have to devise a knee joint for the Aurora project in the future. The thigh has a ball end and the calf has the socket. They are connected by a elastic cord and only allows about 45 degree of bend.

Alright, the knee joint is working well so far!
I decided that's it easier to just print a new lower leg as there were too many connectors in the way in the calf. The new calf will have a socket for attaching foot options...

The thigh cut nicely and I didn't need to remove any posts.
A little printed template helped to make the cut accurately...

I'm also revisiting an old idea for a very simple shoulder joint.
Simply glue one of these 2" hollow steel balls inside a small upper arm piece with a magnet in the shoulder.

The cover is printed very thin (1/16"). May not hold a pose really well but it would offer full movement.

Very nice work, you would be right at home with Disney or Lucas light and magic shop! May I suggest another mod (purely for selfish reasons)? How about a my size Barbie high heel foot/ankle ....you are likely already heading there!
Which ultimately leads me to.....high heels for this size doll. There is a SEVERE shortage (aka NONE) of high heels for mini dolls! I would pay decent money for some sexy heels that a 80cm-100cm doll could wear with that elusive 11-12cm instep.

Maybe a small center hole in the cover would help magnetism if there is a specific hole diameter that would not been seen during articulation?

The design is already done, just need to scale them down and put in the ankle joint like below.
Two other foot options are already done, just need to scale them down to the MSB size.
They will have the ball-in-ball type joint instead of the eye bolt shown...
