DD brought up a good point in a PM that I thought would be good info for everyone interested.
If you want a softer looking sculpt you can use Meshmixer to easily soften the crease lines.
Just select the area around the crease and remesh the area with a little denser mesh (press R),
then press Ctrl + F to smooth it out. Repeat the smooth command until it's as soft as you like.

You can also use the erase and fill command (press F). This removes the selected area and replaces with a blended mesh.
I used this to remove the top part of the labia...

Meshmixer is free. Download it and try it out!

That is a much faster method. I need to spend an hour or so using the smooth tool.
This is my version

To return MF's favour, if anyone is interested, I'll post back the STL file. Mind you, it won't be as smooth as MF's method.

Here's a quick run down on installing the leg cups.

1. Hold or tape the cutting guide about 1/8" from the top of inner thigh. Trace line.
2. Drill holes close together...

3. Connect the dots to make the cut.
4. Grind off the connector post inside the leg.
A rotary file bit with the drill works great for this purpose.

5. Tape 60 grit sandpaper to a flat countertop and sand the cut edge flat and smooth.
6. Install leg cup with epoxy or my favorite, Aves Apoxie Paste.

There will be a slight amount of sanding and filling required to blend seamless to the leg.
The Aves Paste is perfect for this type of thing. An old credit card makes a good applicator for spreading a thin coat and feathering.

The same process is used for installing the pelvis.
Here are the cut line tracing templates. The split on the leg template goes to the back and to the left for the waist template.
For the right leg just flip the template over.

EDIT: Revised waist template - was fitting too high up on the body.
Cut needs to made just above the leg wells to avoid the two large posts inside the MSB...

A few updates...

She now has a twisting waist! This was one of DD's suggestions.
As it turned out there was just enough room to do this and it works!

It works much like a mannequin leg joint - twist a full 90 degrees to put together/take apart.
It also provides an enclosed sleeve holder with full 6" length to match the Sex in a Can unit.
Another nice thing about this is it eliminates the need for all the putty work and blending since there's a purposeful joint.

Also, I found a much easier and quicker way to do all this cutting on the MSB.
Just heat up the blade on a putty knife and melt through the plastic! :)
Got to have good ventilation though as it gets really stinky.

Another pleasant surprise was that my Abby's articulated hands fit almost perfectly into the hollow arms!
Just need to make the posts a little bigger to fit more snugly.
Different hand poses could be an option.

Hehe, it just hit me that since she comes apart at the waist now, the recording module I'm using in Eva could be mounted on the insert cap (without the skin colored part)...

I guess I need to get a new MSB and do one of these complete. My poor MSB is a bit mucked up from all the experimenting.

BTW, ToysRus have the MSB pretty cheap now at $44 with free shipping.

Thanks D.A.! I appreciate the kind words.

I may not be completing this on my MSB but hopefully DD will be able to complete his sometime soon.
I'd really like to see how this works for someone else.

Another thing that came to mind was in order to eliminate the need for the putty work and blending of the leg parts, maybe some of these cheap arm warmers could be used as stockings. Just adhere the arm bands at the leg joints to hide them...

I've also noticed quite a surge lately in the amount of MSB clothing available on Ebay.
Some of them pretty adult oriented like this sexy outfit...

Looks like there have been a few downloads, so here are the rotating waist parts for the MSB.
I forgot to add them to the post above. These replace the waist ring part.
BTW, if anyone out there is doing this, it would be nice to see your results! :)

I love your work, MF! For clothing, check out NPW Studios on Ebay--this is just a sample of what Nadia can do. Message Nadia directly for custom projects (npwstudio@hotmail.com) and check out her work for fellow TDF members, too ;)

Attached are some vintage lingerie pieces she did for me...

Hi Axel and thanks! :)

Yes I've seen some of Nadia's items - they are very very nice!
Just a little outside of my budget unfortunately.

Hi MannequinFan, I've been following your mods for a while now, you make it look easy.
A few days ago I came across this site http://www.manuelbastioni.com/index.php
Its a open source character creator plugin for Blender. You can design, pose and change the facial expressions. Maybe you could build your own custom heads with it.
Keep up the good work.

Hey crazyfingers, thanks and welcome to TDF! :D

Hehe, yes I just ran across that a few days ago when I was checking the Makehuman site to see if there were any new developments. Facial expressions work really nice - I was playing around with it the other day. The bodies also have a little nicer detail than in Makehuman.
I've got a new head in progress for my Abby that I did with Makehuman: http://dollforum.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 61#p814761
May have to take another look at it now!

This is the "shock" expression from Manuellab...

Yes, that head will be very fitting for Abby as she'll be shocked you're finally getting her done!

All the projects are coming along good though. I nominate MF for doll tinkerer of the year! :glou:

How much of the original My Size Barbie will be left? I got to thinking that there is so much of her being made of new design printed parts that only the use of original parts keep her from being scaled up or down.
Going downtown. Gonna see my gal. Gonna sing her a song. I'm gonna show her my ding dong! C&C
