any chat'ers out there?

The last time I was in chat (a few months ago), I disliked it enough to not return. Basically, I voted with my feet; I just walked away. While I did miss chatting for a while, I am well over that now. As much as I disliked Skype, I now find its voice chat capability almost infinitely preferable (and some of you know how little I liked Skype).

I have noticed that there seems to be significantly fewer people in chat, at any given time, than there were in the "old" chat. Is that a hint of any kind?

Has anyone considered performing a comparative review of user log-ins between them? Presuming, of course, such records exist.
