arrival+review of Katia, 153cm body with Sabrina/Meilli head

First thing, when ordering end december or begin januari you have to take the Chinese New-Year holidays in account. Mine was ordered 31 dec and she was ready 17 jan. The pickup service holded her for a week before transferring her to FedEx. There she stayed for 10 days. Once left Lantau, she arrived at my home about 30hours later (4 feb). No import duty to pay (maybe they were in a hurry to get her delivered after almost 3 weeks).
So there she was. As seen in other picures, in a sturdy cardboard box, well protected.

It is a nice body, too bad the Meilli head's colour is much lichter than the body which is 'tanned'. This head fits well on the body.

I also noticed a line impressed on her body, probably from the plastic protecting her, after being in there for 20 days.

The extra's like wig comb, TPE glue, fake nail glue, lipstick, gloves and belly piercing. I don't know if these are standard or maybe they gave me something extra because I ordered 2 heads and one suplementary clothing. And of course the 4 inserts.

She felt a bit oily and there was i slight odour. So I washed her and putted some talc powder on her (as at that time I didn't had cornstarch). By then the feeling of her skin was incredibly nice. It was then also that I noticed her right leg being too loose. Even on the bed sheet I couldn't let her keep that leg bended, it always slipped back. This probably will limit the positions I can give her for pictures.
Her measurements are slightly larger then what is given on BD's site: 31,5(80cm)-22,4(57cm)-32,6(83cm). I will add all the measurements on the Matrix later.
Two days later after powdering her again with cornstarch, the oily feeling was away and the odour was almost completely gone.

All in all, I am pretty satisfied with her, and also with the communication I had with Joy of Beautiful-Dolls.

Thanks Obin, next photos will definitely be with Meilli.

These are some dressed pictures with Sabrina head. Because there are some differences in the structure and opening of the head compared to Meilli the neck cannot go far into the head resulting in a longer neck.

The shirt and skirt are size EU32, which for the shirt, although it fits very well, is giving difficulties to put on. Maybe it was because of the sleeves.

Detail of the heads where you can see the difference of the opening where the neck goes in.

One can clearly see there is a huge difference in the opening at the base of the head. Also is there, in my opinion, a large difference in the deepness of the opening. Measured in the extension of the thread in the head, the depth for Sabrina is 23mm while Meilli has 32mm, resulting in a more realistic neck for Meilli. In fact all this is 'normal' as the Meilli head is larger, for instance the circumference is 51cm against 49cm for Sabrina.

The two lines on her belly dissapeared, so I guess I was right assuming they came from the plastic during transport.

Yeah, I also thought so. I can only assume they took a head already laying around. And I guess they did it since I ordered them a few weeks before their Season Festival. Or they mixed some orders.
But I am going to try some make-up to camouflage the colour difference. Will be seen in upcoming photo's.

Brigitte, I am going to see how to admit her measurements to the Matrix. Guess it will not be too difficult.

Thanks Lisa, I like them both (of course). Meilli looks to me a bit more mature, but thats my opinion of course.

Well, I have her now 20 days. She is very easy in useability, not too heavy to carry her around. Although this would be easyer if her right leg was not so loose. Getting the inserts in is still a learning curve to me, even with cornstarch and the hint (else on TDF) to use a nylon stocking. One day it slips in like nothing and another day cann't get it deep enough.

The skin is still very good, no tears anywere. Easy enough to wash and powder her. Since her body is not closed completely (due to the inserts) I don't give her a bath. Neither a shower, but this is because she cann't stand up even with support, again due to her loose right leg.

But I am happy with her as she is very lifelike, huggable, playable and beautifull.

One thing that is less good is that the TPE is very sensitive to stains. As I'm a fan of 'dark' clothes (black, blue, red,..), I made the error of putting her on a black dress that was exactly her size. Because of the pressure at some parts she got stained although the dress was washed twice. So now I am waiting for sunny days to give her sunlight on the stained parts. Not too long of course.
And every piece of clothing, from stockings, knickers,.. to dresses are being soaked now again and again till the water doesn't discolor anymore, after a first overnight soaking in a mix of water with vinaigre and a bit of salt. This last one is to 'fix' the colour in the fibers, a 'grandmothers' tip.
