Kayla's G. Stand arrived

Post by AlexKnight »

Early this week, I received my G. RD3 stand, and like others have said, it's a great stand!!

I've chosen to get small wheels, and they roll perfectly on the carpet on my floors.

I had the choice of getting green back push bags, or black ones. I opted for the black ones, considering most of the clothes I have for my dolls are dark colored, making it easier to edit them out, if need be.

Of course, Kayla couldn't wait to get on the stand, she has been bugging me from the very first day she arrived.

"I want to stand"
"Melissa gets all the standing time, I want some too"
"When will I get to stand?"

And as luck had it, I hurt me back a couple of weeks ago, so she couldn't get on it when it arrived, but today, my back was good enough to be able to lift her, and take some pics.

These stands make posing the dolls in standing mode so much easier. (Not easy, but a lot easier.)

Great pics, by the way. She looks so real.

Looks good.
Question: can you keep your doll in that position all the time?

The front wheels look like they have a locking mechanism, do they?

She can stay "standing" like that, no problem, the only thing that could cause a problem, is the back push.
That's why it's recommended to store the doll without it.

Kayla is made with Platinum cured silicone, which should be able to withstand compression issues, so, for the moment, I'm keeping her standing with the back push installed.
But I'll watch her back closely though.

The only other issue in that exact position is her left arm, because it's flat against her body, the armpit is compressed, which should be avoided for long periods at a time.

Ever since I received Kayla and did my first photoshoot with her, she has stayed on the couch, sitting.
She has pretty much been seated for almost 2 months, with the occasional checkup, and her silicone is holding out great.
There are absolutely no creases anywhere, and her butt is as round as the day she arrived, no compression what so ever.

So, I'm fairly confident, she can handle the back push for quite some time as well.

I must say, the crotch area is designed much better than on Melissa, if I kept Melissa's legs the way Kayla's are now, there would be deep creases in her crotch, but with Kayla, the creases are extremely minimal. Without the insert installed, it really helps there.

This is how her crotch area looks, while she's standing like that:

As you can see, the creases are just barely visible.

Indeed they do, all three wheels have foot brakes on them, which is great when I'm putting a doll on it, without the brakes, the stand would be rolling all over the place, and would not be very practical.

The only "downside" to the wheels is, when two wheels are turned inwards, it doesn't take much effort to tip the stand over to the side.
Luckily, I found this out without Kayla on it, or it could have ended badly.

For more stability, there should be 2 wheels just left and right of the center beam, having 4 wheels in total, that way, it would be a lot harder to tip the stand over.

Hi robotpimp :)

Due to shipping costs Gibb told me that he is only shipping to the UK and some European countries. However if you are in a country outside of Europe and are willing to pay the extra import and postage he might be willing to ship.

You can contact him at the UK forum http://www.uklovedollforums.co.uk/forum/member.php?u=1 or if you like, you can PM me and I can have a word with him for you.

Let me know it's no problem.
