Yeah I feel you. The problem when you manufacture that kind of doll is that they are falling in the niche category and the manufacturers dont sell many of these.
Designing a new model is quite expensive, therefore they try to reach the largest possible market. They will sometime try to see if these niche dolls could pull all potential customers, but from what I heard so far (I know few vendors and manufacturers after all these years) is that in general not much are getting sold.
But yes I do agree with you that some guys would buy these type of dolls, but it would not be an explosive success. Also Tayu are high end dolls from the price perspective, therefore attacking an even smaller market in the first place. So imagine designing niche dolls over that already small market.
Bull squash.
One of if not the most universally recognizable and popular dolls ever offered for sale, is the WM 163 H cup "thick" "Jasmine" doll..

This has been and continues to be an all time best seller for WM, able to grab the attention and interest of non doll people. This is THE doll that is likely the most responsible for inspiring first time doll purchases.
"Thick" (again, not fat/obese) is incredibly popular in pop culture. Movies, music, social media etc. "Thick" cosplayers are killing it with literally millions of followers on social media (why would literal millions follow a body type they didn't like?). Thousands of women all over the world get breast and ass implants each year to try to get in on the action. Japanese anime/hentai/video games have thousands of characters that fit with this look. This isn't the early 90's anymore; the sickly, stick thin, malnourished look is out.
The real problem is a failure in marketing, not a lack of interest in the body type (again, "thick" not fat/obese).
Besides, there are already hundreds if not thousands of rehashed stick thin A/B/C cup bodies; these represent some manufacturers entire catalog. J*D has five (yes 05) versions of the exact same body literally, including a scaled up height version and a torso. How many times can the same dang body be rehashed? The market is stagnant, Tayu is stagnant currently. Their LHP will only take them so far, especially if another manufacturer comes in with LHP just as good, undercuts them on price and offers more variety in body type.
Tayu started this thread, asked for feedback on a "plump" (again..their words) model, not another small breasted, stick thin, anorexic model which they and nearly every other manufacture offers in duplicate.
Here is Tayu's goal, according to Tayu themselves incase anyone missed it the first few times it was posted..

Recognizing the diversity in preferences and the desire for more variety, we've been working on developing a new body type that features a fuller and meaty figure, with enhanced thighs, buttocks, and a more shaped belly.
