Stain removal

Post by private56 »

I bought a new skirt for my old tpe doll and it stained it very badly It also so just so happens to be a doll I was in the process of restoring and repairing….

So im looking for stain remover but its so expensive its like buying ink for a inkjet printer. 30$ for a small container and then 9$ for shipping with a 2 week shipping time…. The stain basically covers her entire thighs and one of her forearms that was resting against the skirt. So this it would likely require more than one of these expensive containers. But this tpe removal compound is likely an overpriced cosmetic or household cleaner in disguise right? What could I go buy from a local store rather than pay for this liquid gold?

Look up stain remover here on TDF.
The go to product for TPE doll stain removal is OXY-10 acne medication.
Apply, wait and the stain is gone.

It might be sold by a different name depending where you are located.

Cheers!

Great work getting the stains out... and Ayumi's body is gorgeous!

Found this thread looking for how to remove the stains from the black spandex panties and black spandex mini skirt Madison was wearing for our naughty teacher role play. I'd washed them each several times beforehand (hand washing at first until I didn't see any discoloration of the water, then machine washed a couple of times), but I guess both being tight and the motion against the desk was too much.

Edit:
A few hours later and I've already applied, wiped off when it started to dry and reapplied. Most of the minor stain (like a reverse tan line) is gone... but I HATE waiting.

Hello, first time poster!

Really glad I found this thread as my doll recently got stained. Accidentally left him lying on a low quality black towel overnight and think some of the dye rubbed off because now he looks like he has a bruise.

Got some different acne cream with 10% benzoyl peroxide since the Clean Clear in Panther68's response is discontinued. Applied now and going to check in 24 hours. Hope it works.

I found this thread searching for advice on removing stains. I bought a faux leather skirt and jacket for my new tpe doll. I set up a short photo session which couldn’t have taken more than two hours to shoot. I washed the jacket and skirt three times before I dressed her for the shoot. I took off the black clothes and dressed her in a white dress that I dress her in when not shooting. Two days after the shoot I found a huge dark stain on her back. I read somewhere that makeup remover cream works but didn’t have any luck with that. I’m going to give the oxy 10 a try. I'm a bit worried with this method though because the photos Panther68 provided looks like it damaged the doll. If I do use that method and it doesn’t work, I guess I’ll have to fork out US$40 for a tiny jar of stain remover. :(

Acne cream definitely works. It may not instantly remove the stain like the expensive ones do but after 2-3 days it will be gone. Certain manufacturers ship a lump of TPE so that we can test if something will stain it. So far I tested 3 pair of black panties that were machine washed and no stains showed on it.
Might be a great idea to ask any vendor for a TPE sample with our purchase for stain test.

Yes, I agree with this. It is necessary for the manufacturer to provide TPE samples, which will be helpful for the dyeing test and repair of the doll! :glou: :glou: :glou:

Yes, I agree with this.
My concern with using Oxy 10 is the damage to the skin as shown in Panter68’s posted photos. Have anybody used this and did not see any damage to the skin?

What damage are you referring to? I see some residual product on the later photos, but that's just a matter of wiping off with a damp cloth.

I couldn't find OXY 10 so I used the 5% version on my girl... twice so far and it works well. There's no apparent damage.
