This is what I experienced too! Changes in angles and lighting makes my doll almost alive.

Thank you, here is Penny a little more recently tooMayTheFource wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 5:26 pm I saw her in a different thread. I forgot which one. She is pretty.
She had just opened up a box of gifts our friend Jantra had surprised us with.
I think working with the more genuine moments we experience with our dolls can play out a lot into creating a natural expression in photo

Sometimes I was confused by FaceApp photos too, especially when it is of a doll face new to me. A few times I got impressed and excited by a few photos, only to realize disappointedly later that the actual doll face is with a completely different expression.Justinpassinthru wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 5:29 pm I'll post some of my own a bit later. I really dislike the current trend of AI/FaceApp photos.
I am now quite happy with what I have, and am not actively shopping for a new doll. So seeing a FaceApp altered photo does not bother me as much as it used to be.

It is very nice that Suki's tongue can extend this much. Mine cannot do that.Arthur1960 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 04, 2023 4:34 am Earlier this year I got hold of a set of teeth and tongues from The Doll Laboratory and was quite impressed with the different facial expressions I could achieve with Suki here. While they tend to work best with heads that don't have any teeth it's possible to use them with those that do although you may need to trim the existing 'teeth' for best results. Still the set can be a nice alternative to software like FaceApp.

This thread is a great idea. Personally, I like FaceApp. But, you're absolutely right that it's possible to add all kinds of personality to a photo just through angles, lighting, eye placement, etc. Great post! I'm looking forward to what else people post on this thread.
