What to do with an old sex doll? Recycle or sell it 😉👍TOP TIPS

Post by NaughtyHarbor »

Has the time come when your realistic doll has grown old or do you need to make room for a new beauty?
We will advise you on how to dispose of an old sex doll, how to recycle it, or what else you can do.

There are several options for how to dispose of dolls for the environment. Research them before you decide to just throw a doll in the trash because that is the last and worst option.

Don't throw it out!
Avoid simply throwing the doll in the dumpster (or god forbid in the river) as you could give someone a shock when they discover a "corpse". Also, it's not good for the environment.

Also, reject the idea of burning a doll, wh which is essentially a large piece of plastic on a metal frame. Burning plastics (even if they are human-shaped) is not environmentally friendly and can harm your health, the environment, and legal retribution.

Have you considered burying a sex doll? For true romantics from Japan, this is the only possible option, but we do not recommend it. You don't want a nosy neighbor to call the police on you like you're a serial killer. And this option is not ecological either. And we only have one planet so far.

► Did you know that sex toys are one of the least recycled commodities worldwide? It is especially worrying for those electronic ones that contain batteries.

The best way to get rid of an erotic doll you no longer need is recycling.

If you want to get rid of the doll quickly contact your local waste management facility (collection yard) and say that you need to dispose of a doll made of metal and plastic (TPE or silicon). You don't have to say it's a sex doll right away, do you? You can dismantle the doll for easier transportation. Moreover, unfolded, it does not look so human and "erotic".

Google it and see if there is a company in your area dealing directly with the recycling of silicone items. You can also get some financial compensation for your doll, plus you get the good feeling that it's being recycled into new items.

TIP: You can sell sex doll here on dollforum.com.

Give it to somebody or sell it

If you have a sex doll that you no longer have room for at home but is still in good condition, you can simply offer it for sale. Believe it or not, there are a significant number of people looking for used sex dolls.

If you want to protect your privacy, create an anonymous profile. Wash, disinfect, dress, and take a nice photo of the doll. Spend a few minutes on a comprehensive description - not only the parameters (weight, weight), but you can also attach a story, the advantages of sex dolls, etc.

If you are not looking for financial compensation, but want to feel good that the sex doll will be of use to someone else, donate it. Many people do not have the finances to buy this sophisticated erotic device and would very much welcome the opportunity to get it, even if it is used. Or they will appreciate it for many other reasons – for example, as an art object.

Tips for places in the area where your retired sex doll will be appreciated

● Dance clubs: Approach the owner of a dance or nightclub and see if they are looking for a realistic doll to liven up the space and entertainment.
● Artists: Check out the art scene in your area, and share an offer for the sale of a realistic doll on art-oriented FB pages. Artists often create new things from old ones, and they can breathe a whole new life into your doll, in ways you never dreamed possible.
● Photographers: The old doll will be appreciated not only as a dress mannequin but also as a new creative stimulus for new creations. It is enough to approach photographers who are engaged in product photography or freelance work and make them an offer that cannot be refused.
● Fashion designers: A sex doll is far more realistic than a fashion mannequin. Any fashion designer and creator will appreciate this. It's worth a try.

Don't throw it out, give it away. Silicone and TPE are NOT being recycled by any government entity. They still wind up in landfills or burned.
Even busted up dolls are used by doll surgeons (like me) for practice, or for spare parts to repair other dolls. Some are simply repaired and given to needy folks.
Just don't throw them away.

This is a good overview, however I do have several comments.

Major YES !!!
There have been several humorous incidents where local law agencies found a doll and thought it was a body.
In one case it took them several hours (?!!) to figure out it was not a human corpse.
Either the doll looked very good, or the officers were a bit clueless. :)

I'm also going to call you on this. Please let us know of ANY recycling company in the USA that will accept TPE from a used sex doll. As far as I know their are none.

It's not that they can not, rather that those places will not do it. The problem is that someone has to buy the recycled TPE to make into another product.
Those folks don't want to use TPE that has probably been drooled on, sweated on and covered with various bodily fluids. No matter how much they say it was "cleaned".

I mean, would YOU buy a plastic toothbrush if it was made from recycled toilet bowl brushes? Even if they were "cleaned" first.

So, for now at least, the idea of "recycling" TPE is more theory and marketing hype than reality.
However I would really like to proven wrong on this one. :)

This is by far the best option for disposal. New folks would be able to get a taste for GOOD dolls at a reasonable price, collectors can save obscure dolls form destruction and repair and research folks can get material to develop new methods and techniques.

TDF might even consider adding a new "FREECYCLE" section. This would be like those communities who hold regular events to FREEly reCYCLE items back into the community. Items are brought in and then freely exchanged for further use, instead of being discarded. Here at TDF it could be a section where items are listed for a fee not to exceed the shipping cost. Something like that would greatly increase the reuse of TPE and reduce its impact on the environment from disposal.

Just my two cents.
Cheers!

I really love your idea of "FREECYCLE" section! (I would be a subscriber!)

Right now, if I could find someone in my area who would like to get rid of a rather small/light TPE doll with big breasts, I would surely be a taker! When I have more free time this fall/winter, I would like to try a simplified version of the "breast surgery" I described here: viewtopic.php?p=2278655#p2278655

I hope to soon find a "volunteer in TPE" who will agree to go under my scalpel!
Cheers! :glou:

Has anyone actually tried this? I'm trying to find a way to dispose of a practically new TPE doll quickly only to discover that it's way harder to throw out/recycle than I thought it would be. So far I've got it posted on craigslist under "free stuff" and I'm trying to find out from the Eden Fantasys Re-Vibe project if they will accept TPE dolls. The store I bought it from definitely isn't interested.

Well, if nothing else is possible after while, then yes, if your Country do have/use that option, recycle it.
A doll consists for the most part of Silicone and/or TPE, iron and/or aluminiom. These are prosducts that are used each and every day by people all over the World.

Cut the crap people, no refuse company recycles TPE or Silicone. NO ONE.
First off, you can't recycle silicone, at all. It is a catalyst derived solid, it binds to nothing, it does not melt, soften, liquify, nothing.
There is no secondhand market for used TPE, it's so damn cheap and so rarely encountered that it makes no financial sense.
So can we stop this rediculous "recycle" nonsense, please?

The only "RECYCLE" option for TPE that I am aware of is to offer it to folks here for mad modifications applications or repair.
Other than that it's just chuck out the poor babe.

Sadly it seems that RECYCLE is a great trendy buzzword to make some folks all warm and happy.
Unfortunately in most of the world it just means it still goes to a landfill, only in a different type of truck. :)

Also consider that for a while doll manufacturers were yelling about how their dolls were made with VIRGIN TPE, thus implying that recycled TPE was bad.
Now if sex doll companies will not use recycled TPE for their own poke-poke toys, what chance is there other companies will use it ?

Bottom line is that if we want to do some recycling of TPE, then we need TDF to create a FREECYCLE or DONATION section in the marketplace.

Just me two cents.
Cheers!

Hey Wheezer... opening a subsection for giveaways or salvage dolls with less requirements (details, photos, etc.) than those of the sales forum is something that we discuss about once a year. So far, the consensus is that because in most cases shipping costs are still significant, the same requirements for posting have to be applied.

It doesn't absolve us as a community, but the whole world has a problem with single-use plastic. We are just one very small facet of the issue.

Thanks for the update and that the group has considered it.

Actually a giveaway or salvage area SHOULD have the same requirements as the sales area regarding info, pictures, etc. Users need to know what they are getting, even if its free. :)
Shipping seems to be just an acceptable cost. Even a Freecycle event is not free, since you have to pay for your gas to get there and back.

Perhaps a better term would be a "NEW LIFE" section. One where dolls are listed with the requirement that the cost can only be for shipping itself. It would be clear that it is to allow a new life for those about the be discarded. Users would know the expectations and limitations. Also perhaps a minimum post requirement like for posting picture. Keeps out the lookie only folks.

It would not save the world or any other lofty goals, but perhaps prevent a few dumpings a year.
Plus an ability to easily rehome dolls once a user moves on, for whatever reason.

Just a thought.
Cheers!

I just assumed landfill, but now that you have opened my eyes I can't not throw one in the river. Oh, Freya says she wants a viking funeral. Perfect, river and burning. Pictures to come. Will need to practice my archery.

We're glad this post has generated so many responses. In our opinion, this is a topic that nobody thinks much about until the moment when they need to get a new one and the old one stays somewhere in the closet or locked in a box. You can see that a lot more interesting ideas can come out of this than the ones we've described here. :-)
