When not in use, I store my dolls in their own room. They are stored naked, but wrapped in white microfiber blankets. I limit any prolonged surface contact to only white microfiber blankets.Prettz9 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 31, 2023 11:54 pm Random question. But I was curious. My girls name is summer and normally during the week she hangs out on the bed on her memory foam pillow. On the weekends when we are not doing photos she is in her chair hanging out with me. She has standing feet but I don't leave her standing very often. I was just curious if your girls normally lay down most of the time or are they sitting or do they stand?
Most of those with bolted standing feet wear socks and "comfortable" shoes, stand on thin packaging foam, and lean against memoryfoam. Shout out to Gogodolls for giving me this idea about a year ago!
My actively used dolls hang on a winch system via the neck bolts, with their removed heads mounted on secure display units until ready for use. I have a few dolls that sit on foam-cushioned chairs while still wrapped in blankets.
I believe extended periods of warmth combined with prolonged pressure could eventually deform a doll's butt if left sitting too long (although I'm probably being overly cautious. The sitting dolls are rotated to standing or hanging (depending on their feet design) every few weeks or whenever possible in the summer months to avoid "secretary ass" problems.
None of them are clothed while in storage (except socks and shoes for those with bolted standing feet only).
