Thanks! Still trying to figure out what to paint it with. Leaning towards Tamiya acrylic for models, but damn that stuff's expensive!

Re: Bargain Mini Finds On eBay!
More often than not, they just drop me into an deep rabbit hole of “enhancements” and upgrades… which exponentially multiply my “bargain” purchase price…
Good luck!

Expensive but good!

It's the re-issue of the Bratz Cruiser from 2002. No radio this time, but still has opening doors, boot and working lights!

Nice General ZodMr Franz wrote: ↑Sat Oct 22, 2022 6:21 pm Ok, so Superman's nemesis General Zod from Krypton arrived yesterday. Like The Count, he's also a Mego 14 inch action figure. Unlike The Count, his range of motion is not quite as good and his leg and pelvic joints are far looser. A common problem with earlier releases of this body I understand. For the price I paid though, not a bad figure at all and well detailed.

To give you an idea of the size difference between 1:6 scale figures and this one, here's General Zod with Erich, sporting his new body. I fear an unholy alliance may be forming between those two...

BTW, Erich's new body was supposed to be an upgrade for Lil' El, but since it matched Erich's head sculpt better and his old body had some issues, I gave it to him. Erich's old body is fixable though, so I ordered a new head sculpt for it.
Interesting you should mention him, the talented British actor who played him Terrence Stamp has been in quite a few films, including 1 with the late great Peter Fonda and with Kurt Russell in "The Art of the Steal"
He was in a 60s film called The Collector, I think, (something to that effect) that is a great film, part fantasy, part horor.
Re: Bargain Mini Finds On eBay!
Thanks. To be honest, I hadn't heard of the Zod character prior to getting the doll, I mean action figure. I just thought he looked cool.alphamaledollmaster wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 9:34 pmNice General Zod

I am familiar with "The Collector" from 1965 though. Saw it when it first came out... damn I'm old. I had no idea it was the same guy. Cool beans!

Re: Bargain Mini Finds On eBay!
Next thing you know I'm carving in a seam line with the back of an Xacto knife. Use to do 1/25 scale model cars that way back in the day. Little tedious, but not too difficult. Problem is, Barb cars are a lot bigger and the gap wasn't wide enough. So, I end up with the wife's metal nail file just going to town on the thing! Of course that left the valleys a little rough. So there I am, arthritis be damned with a tiny piece of sandpaper wrapped around a tooth pick trying to sand it smooth.
Got that almost done and noticed how fakey the headlight and VW emblem stickers looked. I mean, it's a freaking toy for goodness sake! It ain't gotta be perfect. Right? Yeah well, found out I can print decals and had some self adhesive label stock left over from that, so back to the printer I go. Found some nice pics online, scaled them to fit and printed them out.
Satisfied, I start test fitting everything, figuring I'm almost ready for paint. That's when I notice that from some angles, the top of the tires can be seen from inside the car. Again, it's a toy. The wheel wells molded into the chassis are not complete. So what, right? Huh... that dipping sauce container over there is about the right size. I wonder if...? A little scissoring, fitting, more scissoring, more fitting, some glue, some tape and the tires don't show from inside anymore.
Any who, got one final sand to do before paint. Surely I won't find anything else to fix...

So, without further ado...
Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the Mego 8 inch wonder, ELVIS! Got this little guy a few days ago. He's the Mego "Jailhouse Rock" edition Elvis. Pretty good sculpt overall. Although, this edition looks a little Hispanic to me, so I'm calling him Elvez...

"I found a new love."
"But that man's an imposter!"
"What's he got that I haven't got?"
"Six more points of articulation."

At long last, the underside is ready for paint. TA DA! PS If the wife asks what happen to her kitchen fan... you don't know anything...
