Agent and 4891d, you definitely spotted what was so charming about yesterday’s flurries!

Most of the time, when it snows around here, it’s either wet or icy. My climate is pretty humid, even in winter. Lucky for me, I like snow that sticks to the trees and stuff for my photos with Cedar.

Yesterday’s snow was rare and delicate… almost like each flake was a tiny poof ball of crystals. It didn’t stick to anything. Instead, it just drifted around and got trapped in little cracks and crevices… wherever the wind couldn’t reach it.

It’s like the snow was playing hide and seek!

Ta’rah - Dirty Feet

The snow is gone.

But at least now, it’s starting to actually feel like early Spring.

I’m not sad about the snow anymore… maybe next year I’ll find some to play in. Right now, it’s nice to feel the Forest waking up from it’s Winter slumber… even if it was just a nap.

“Come Sha’do’funn! To dirty muck now!”

Yes… muck everywhere…

But it isn’t too bad. We haven’t started getting Spring rains yet, and the ground isn’t frozen, so everything has drained well. Actually, this may be one of my last opportunities to easily wander off the trails into the Forest. The undergrowth and flowers will be start to sprout soon, and I don’t want to trample them.

Meanwhile, the moss and other early Spring plants are taking full advantage of the the longer days.

I hadn’t planned on coming to the Forest today.

But it’s a good thing I did. There’s a full moon happening, and it’s crazy high energy has been messing with my life. My day at work yesterday was filled with chaos… and I actually woke up early this morning stressing about it. Normally, I’d be trying to make some headway on my projects today, but energy like this is perfect for screwing things up.

Better to just walk it off!

As I expected, Ta’rah and I were alone today.

Since the Forest hasn’t started “greening” yet… people don’t consider it to be pretty out. Everywhere you look, most of what you see are the dead leftovers from Fall and Winter. You have to look closely to find new life happening.

But death is beautiful too.

Today’s walk has definitely done the trick.

I can feel the chaos drain away with every step. It’s important for me to remember that spending time outside with my little Loves is a vital part of getting my projects completed. A day like today could’ve easily brought disaster had I tried to force myself to be productive.

“Yes… Haha! FUN is best!!!”

Yeah, sometimes it's better to take a little break to take a step back before making decisions that have consequences.
And who better than these little forest nymphs to help you escape from the worries of everyday life by taking you to what is neither quite an ordinary forest nor quite an out-of-this-world place? A rejuvenating escape just on the edge of the real world.

Thanks John! It’s funny, but moments after I posed Ta’rah for that photo, two people appeared just ahead on the trail walking towards us. You can’t see them in the pic, but Ta’rah is looking straight at them!

They saw me, but not her… nobody is looking for dolls… Ha!

Moss Therapy

“It tickles… Giggle!”

I needed to get outside today… but I had no idea I’d find this!

The moss was on fire! It almost looked like green lava oozing up all around the base of the trees. Even the sad moss that gets trodden over on the trail was looking peppy.

It definitely brightened up my day!

We had rain overnight and into this morning. Today would be just as predicted, nothing but grey, damp and chilly. I had made up my mind to stay in this weekend and work on projects… but I was getting stir crazy.

And I could’ve sworn I heard a giggle…

Evidently, this was the perfect weather for moss to go crazy with growth!

Everywhere you looked, the Forest was brown and muddy… still covered in the dead leaves of winter. That is, until your eyes spotted a patch of moss. They were like green strobe lights all over the Forest!

I think, if I was patient enough… I could’ve sat and watched it grow!

“Are you glad you came to the Forest today SF???”

“Yes my Love… I certainly am!”

I wasn’t sure what I’d find… but I knew it’d be worthwhile.

The skunk cabbage is definitely blossoming in full force now. Most of the marshy areas are stinking with their aroma. I wasn’t sure what other plants might be coming up, but I knew Cedar would help me pay attention to the little things.

There’s Beauty everywhere!

Sometimes I like to say which is my favorite but that isn't possible with this set! :lilangel:

Maybe the last one? If she asked me to follow her like that I'd follow her anywhere. Anywhere. Into the middle of a pack of wolves. Directly into a bear's mouth. Into a swarm of mosquitoes with a hum angrier than an overloaded power substation. The green moss and her are absolutely mesmerizing!
