Oh Boy, New Toys!!!

Thanks, Hollywu! I'm a car guy from way back. Not as active in the hobby as I once was, but still drive a '64 Corvair convertible as my everyday car!

Not crazy about that bright yellow myself. Been toying with the idea of doing it up as a modern day "Herbie" from the Love Bug movies.

Yeah, I thought so too especially when I discovered something odd about the car. It's supposed to be a front drive New Beetle, but the actual electric motor that drives the car, is mounted in the back just like the original bug! Guess that makes it a hybrid. Well, sort of...

Nice find. I know how hard it is to find correctly scaled vehicles for figures. I focus on 1/12 with 6" figures, and the selection is pretty slim. I did find "Lori Dolls Go Everywhere! Convertible" for only $25 at Target. It has working doors and rolling wheels. Mattel WWE has the Slambulance and Slamobile which are extra cool since they break apart, but don't have rolling wheels.

Might want to try Barbie vehicles. They're actually somewhere around 1/10 scale. The only reason 1/6 dolls even fit, is because the front section where the engine would be is hollow so the dolls can sit with their legs stretched out. Most Barb vehicles are actually only waist high.

Here's a tip for you guys with RC vehicles. My 1/6 New Beetle was fully functional except for reverse. I traced the problem to a bad controller. Tried cleaning the contacts, but no luck. Figured I'd just keep my eye out for another controller and stuck the broken one on the top shelf in the closet for safe keeping.

So I'm digging in the closet the other day looking for something else and, you guessed it, the controller comes crashing down on the floor! So I picked up all the pieces, the ones I could find, and half assed it back together.

Works fine now!
