Re: New pictures of Nanako 2.0
The lighting is spot on and give a very fine art sorta feel to these images too..
I do believe that B&W really has its own unique appeal and still can rival any colour photo..
Great set of images of the delightful Nanako.
Re: New pictures of Nanako 2.0
Thanks for the kind words, djc! I really didn't know we had this
many B&W fans here at TDF, but it's encouraging to know. There
will be a couple more B&Ws next next, then a return to color.
After that... some surprires.
Thanks, MK. The lighting worked really well with these photos. I didn'tMorganKam wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 3:16 pm Always love seeing these type of black and white portraits..

want to overdue the backlighting, like I think I may have done in the past.
B&W and color. Both work so well when done carefully. Always hard to
choose between them
Yes, that's my little quirk. I always like to tone down the sepia, so it doesn't become
too overpowering, which It can easily do. Thanks for the encouraging words.
Yes, D. That's key. Making sure the light is even, since just a bit
of deviation can ruin the shot. Thanks for the insght.

As promised, here are a few B&Ws of Nanako. She is dressed
in her dark blue Chinese robe, which is quite lovely in either color or B&W.
We opted for a slightly backlit, B&W look this time, and we hope you will
find the results pleasing. Another small B&W set is on the way for next week.
Canvas is spot on. The tonal graduation in these photos is absolutely superb.
Beautiful photos of your beautiful young lady.
Re: New pictures of Nanako 2.0
I must give all the credit in the world to Nana- chan for any skill I may have in this regard. When I first got her, I took shot after similar shot of these softly featherd images. After a while it got to be a routine process. The real secret lies in finding the perfect angle of your soft box, and exposure. Not unlike executing a perfect crescendo or diminuendo in music.ariel_lover wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 6:14 pmNanako wrote: ↑Fri Feb 02, 2024 11:20 pm 2024-02-03 - Nanako's Blue Robe

Thanks, again, Arthur, for such a kind comment.Arthur1960 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 08, 2024 8:54 am You have Nanako look rather regal in this pic, almost as if she's about to proclaim herself queen of the forum, which I'm sure nobody would challenge! You have balanced the lighting perfectly to create a lovely, atmospheric shot, excellent work yet again!
Well, I know for sure that she has one subject. One who is totally
devoted, and spends way, way too much on her outfits. She promises to
do the same in my old age, but we'll have to see how that goes...
Re: New pictures of Nanako 2.0
A fanciful shot of Nanako as if in a dream sequence from a film noir.
Poor Nanako, wistful little maid at a tea shop! It certainly looks like that
tea table got the better of her. Perhaps Alice in Wonderland somehow got
short-wired into this vignette, who knows. Whatever the case, I'm sure she
will be fully recovered by the time she returns home tonight. Let's hope!
Also included is another B&W portrait to round out the set.
Coming Next Saturday: Nanako's New White Floral Yukata!
Bye for now. Have a great week!

Re: New pictures of Nanako 2.0
Thank you, Hirodha.
I certainly have some catching up to do at your page, as well.
So, at least we both have something to look forward to
Thanks, gogo. She does love to dress up in this outfit. I'm sure you'll
see it again, in time
Thanks much for the kind words! Yes, the cat. That was the easiest partthe living tribunal wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 7:31 am Nice Good working including a real cat in the first photo

Re: New pictures of Nanako 2.0
The effects caught in black and white are cool to see, that first one does have an alice in wonderland like feel to it with the large vs small perspectives
Always love when she pulls out the maid uniform
This portrait is stunning, I gotta say I think it's one of my favorite portraits of hers. I just keep staring
