New pictures of Nanako 2.0

Post by Nanako »

I've now had my new Nanako for just over a month, and have had time to take a few photos.

She's a WM 156C #33, and is a not-quite-exact replacement for my original Nanako, who, sadly, had to be replaced for various reasons - most notably a broken hip. That said, she does have more options than her original, including EVO skeleton, shrugging shoulders, and standing feet. I'm still going slow with the skeleton, and want to get a little more used to its capabilities, before trying any exotic poses, so the present examples may appear a bit static.

Anyway, here are a few photos for today. I hope to post another batch in another day or two.

Edit: Whoops, should be head #35, not #33. Sorry.

Hi, love your pics of the beautiful Nanako, she has some lovely outfits and that profile shot is very evocative. I have her 'sister' here, my Keiko but she's a Jinsan 85 not 33, sometimes the vendors get the Jinsan head numbers mixed up as there are so many but 85 remains one of my favourites as Keiko consistently gives me some good pics. My gal has a WM145D bod but I have to say the taller 156C looks to be a very good combination, I will look forward to seeing more of Nanako!

Thanks for the kind comments. They do mean a lot, especially coming from someone whose own work I have admired so much these past years.

And, sorry, it was me who got the head numbers mixed up. Nanako is a #35, my other WM doll is a #33.

As promised, here a a few more pictures of Nana-chan. This time she's dressed in her yukata.

And thanks to all of you who left positive comments to yesterday's post!

(Umm... I'm really not too sure about the purple wig, but it came with the doll as an extra, so I thought I'd give it a try - at least once.)

Ah, I wondered what that style of dress was called, very nice, I must try and get one for my Keiko, I did get her a Cheongsam last year which really suited her. I actually like the purple wig, it matches her yukata, nice touch with the flower too!

Thanks. A yukata is basically a summer kimono, but lighter in weight. If you are in the market for either, I would try ebay first. You can find many used items from sellers in Japan that are normally much less expensive - and much better made - than the imitations you see elsewhere. The only downside is the postage. I actually spent more on the shipping of the above yukata than I did on the yukata itself.

Thank you for the kind words. I've had her now for two years, and have come to learn (more or less) which angle, or look, works well for her. A lot of trial and error went into attempting to capture the best in her. Still have more to learn. It's an endless journey.

I love the miko outfit at the very beginning of this thread. The bow/ribbon on the front of the hakamma pants is quite distinctive as well.

Then there is the yukata. Wow! The bright purple is striking and very eye-catching.

I also agree that the purple wig goes well with the yukata. It would also be great for a cosplay photoshoot one day if you are into that.

You are a lucky man to have this adorable synthetic companion in your life.

P.S. Great photography as well. :)
What lay behind our joint love of shadows and marvels was, no doubt, the ancient, mouldering, and subtly fearsome town in which we live - witch-cursed, legend-haunted Arkham, whose huddled, sagging gambrel roofs and crumbling Georgian balustrades brood out the centuries beside the darkly muttering Miskatonic.

Thanks! Yes, I love the miko outfit, so bright and so photogenic. Yes, the yukata is deep indigo, but the flowers make it seem somehow much brighter. I have an old haori somewhere, and I might dig it out and dress her up in it someday. Trouble is, it's huge (even on me), so I don't know how well she'll wear it. I'm still undecided on the purple wig, but it might make an interesting spice, here and there :)

Thanks again for your comments!
