I love this portrait of a young lady with an orchid. :)

Image

I'm glad to hear that. I really didn't think I'd use it or not. But, I'm glad I did :D
Canvas wrote: Sat Feb 10, 2024 1:48 pm I enjoyed this weeks post, what range she has.
The effects caught in black and white are cool to see, that first one does have an alice in wonderland like feel to it with the large vs small perspectives
Always love when she pulls out the maid uniform🐈‍⬛
This portrait is stunning, I gotta say I think it's one of my favorite portraits of hers. I just keep staring 👀
Now, I'm very glad I posted the photo!
She can take some excellent portraits when the light
and shadows are distributed just so on her eyes and face.
I thought this one fell a bit short, but what do I know?? :(

Thanks, my friend!
Yes, the text does grab you, not only the bright, red color, but
being in Japanese (Nanako and her cat). I had fun with this!

Thanks, MK! Glad you liked the photos this week. I should
point out that the NoirNeko image was a retake - and for
reasons that should be obvious, once seen. I was really happy
with this image... until I took a good look at it and realized I had
made huge beginner's mistake that I always check beforehand
(and I did on this one too!) Have you caught it yet?
Ok, whenever I do a compositite, the very first thing I do is to
check the direction of the light source, so the shadows will
agree. Well, in this one, we have suns from both east and west.
At first I thought I'd just let it pass, and hope no one would
notice, but then caved, and decided to reshoot it. Ah, me. :?

still enjoy the photos. Again, thanks for your support and encouragement!

Thanks you, sir! I think in this photo, it's more the delicate light that just manages to break through either side, from the overall backlit scene. I really did love these two photos, too! Thanks for the kind words! :D

Thanks, soonpk, very nice to hear. When I shoot B&Ws like these, I wonder if I should ever shoot color again!

2024-02-17- Nanako's White Floral Yukata

Nanako really hit the jackpot this Christmas! In addition to her kistune
necklace, she managed to talk me into this colorful floral yukata. She
also manged to convince me that she needed another hanfu to go along
with it... and, naturally, she did pile on and garnered a few accessories
to both in the process, all of which you will see in dutiful course this week
and next.

I really conceived of this and next week's photo as a pair, and I was
sorely tempted to post them together, but decided that there's nothing wrong
with letting the drama build a little, so you'll have to wait until next week for
the conclusion of this set, at which time I probably will post them side by side.

Coming next week: Nanako's New Hanfu

Bye for now. Have a great week!

Jackpot indeed. Great photo! What a beautiful traditional garment modeled so elegantly by your lovely Nanako.
:lilangel:

Managed to talk you into? Managed to convince you? I'll wager there was no convincing necessary, and you folded like you were holding a pair of deuces and nothing else the minute she asked.
