What they do is a "hot wax (paraffine) coating" on the TPE surface.
And as we know, wax becomes tight and it is not stretchable.
TPE is stretchable and now it has a coating on it that is not stretchable.
It is an absolutely logic process that the coating peels off / comes off over time.

There might be a NO OIL DOLL, but for how long?
-princeoverit. One vendor name kept coming up as being great at helping customers walk through the process, Booty Call Dolls. So I decided I would work with them on this first purchase, and did.
-Just in timeYou could not of found a better person to help you with your first doll. Jeff /Booty call dolls, knows his stuff... One of the few members that is a vendor and a real lover of dolls. He owns quite a few dolls, and really understands the love we all share.
Re: What would tell a NEWBIE about NO OIL TPE?
Ok thanks, I might ask him and see what he says. I don't plan on oiling my dolls too much. Probably once every six months or when they feel smooth without cornstarch. Doesn't really take that long either.Booty Call Dolls wrote:Kira-sama,
The true expert IMHO is indigo 20 and they will last longer..

It will and is.Booty Call Dolls wrote: I can tell you, not having will NEVER be a valid option, will it?
I don't get the oiling ?
I have had TPE P&A toys, 20 years, never oiled them and they are still around, in one piece.
As I have explained above, my YL is now 18 months old and no problems.

Re: What would tell a NEWBIE about NO OIL TPE?
I have never been told Jinsan factory can do it......
And for you, you alone, it has been, but for others IT HAS NOT.
Luck of the draw
I have TPE dolls I have never oiled.
They are fine, but...
I had no choice on one
I had to use oil on my NO OIL TPE DOLLS because something is not right.
She was made in the extra soft blend so maybe that is not a great combination IMHO
Best,
Jeff

Since outer laying is NOT TPE.....
Wash in cold water
Do not oil.....
In my case, the outerlayer came off without washing

Exactly! Just like Platinum TPE.skinnygamer wrote:The Marketing Department?

She's less than 3 weeks old though, so I can't really tell you what maintenance is really going to be like.
Re: What would tell a NEWBIE about NO OIL TPE?
Australia has some quite warm temperatures in the summer as opposed to more temperate climates.
TPE stores quite well at room temperature (20c or less) but observably deteriorates at around 60c.
As this is not a sudden transition, the warmer the temperature the faster the destruction of the TPE.
Generally a good TPE blend will last longer in a cooler climate than one with insane days of 40c+.
Which leads to the aircon effect, absolutely hated by some as it dries and irritates sinuses, TPE also has a tendency to dry (leech oil) naturally, also dependent on the blend.
What is good in one location may be less favourable in another.
The TPE blend and method of manufacture also comes into play with the lovely squishy stuff lasting.
Old saying of What you pays for, is what you gets, is still true.
Silicone is far more durable than TPE, but much more expensive, although heaps cheaper than a real person

I never said my doll has any kind of coating on it.
There is a thread from YL about their no maintenance formula here somewhere dating back about 2 years ago. I will try and find it.
You state that for me and me alone, not oiling my doll has worked but then say you have dolls that you have never oiled and they are fine. This only adds to the confusion.
The title of this thread is NO OIL TPE meaning what exactly ? That the TPE formula has no oil in it OR that you don't need to oil it ???
I have never oiled anything TPE that I have owned in all my 30 years of having these type of toys and now this doll. I think that oil, Vaseline may be caustic to these dolls besides being a mess.
Re: What would tell a NEWBIE about NO OIL TPE?
Zoe definitely has oil in her TPE, it leaks a little bit. She isn't allowed to lean on walls any more.siliconelover wrote:The title of this thread is NO OIL TPE meaning what exactly ? That the TPE formula has no oil in it OR that you don't need to oil it ???

Absolutely, I have never seen a TPE product that doesn't leach itself onto whatever it comes in contact with.
Better keep some TSP around to clean those walls if your doll does decide to use them for support again !
My doll soaked the new sheet I had wrapped her in initially. This is a concept about oiling that doesn't make sense to me as the doll is expelling oil, I don't believe that by adding oil 1. it can actually be absorbed and 2. it just means that whatever does superficially get in just adds and speeds up the quantity of oil coming out.
