Does it help to wash them with shampoo and conditioner, then use a detangling brush when it's wet and slick?

I personally would always use a wig conditioner and never anything intended for real hair (I will assume we are discussing a synthetic wig here). and rarely should you ever have to get it 'wet'...just spray mist on. if you have to use normal product, then a small amount of conditioner only.

Next statement requires two words only: Tangle Teezer

People shampoo and conditioner doesn't work too well for synthetic wigs. Learned that the hard way. I don 't wash my gal's wigs very often, but when I do I just use a drop or 2 of Dawn in the bath sink. Afterward I rinse and gently squeeze with a towel then let air dry completely before brushing. Blow drying makes a real mess of synthetics. Learned that the hard way too.

As for tangles, I finger comp first then use a good wig brush working my way up from the bottom. I have one cheap wig with static issues that requires an occasional mist while brushing, while the others do not.

I also spray static guard on my synthetic wigs and then comb them out, especially in winter when static charges can build up. For Luna's human hair wig, conditioner works wonders.

I tried La Charme Wig Shampoo & Conditioner because 74% of Amazon.com reviewers gave it a five star rating: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00 ... UTF8&psc=1

Unfortunately, the wig still has tangles. Hence, I guess I'll try the Tangle Teezer since two of you recommended it.

Dunk the wig in a 50/50 mix of water and ordinary fabric softener and brush it out while it's wet. Start brushing at the bottom and work your way up. Then hang it up and let it dry.

Thank you for that suggestion! It sounds effective. Does the brush need to be a Tangle Teezer or can I use a regular hair brush?

An issue I`ve been having is with my black wig. The hair is falling out. Might not of been the best quality wig...any way to prevent this?

I like that pink comb that dolls come with, and hold doll hair tight in lap and comb til knots are out. Also use fingers to un knot them too. If knots are that bad, I use scissors to save trouble, finger out the tight knots at end and cut. Tend to use a cheap tangled hair wig for bed use only, bed tends to tangle their hair a lot, switch when sitting or standing doll. Always best to separate cheap wigs and good wigs. Cheap ones for fun, good ones for just looks, if its only for looks, really isnt much need to comb. Just need to lay back in a box or something.

fab/condit never really helped me much. I have a long hair blond one is completely ruined, reminds me of those hippy dread locks.. Looks nice anyway, doesnt look so bad. Isnt as noticeable due to wig being blonde.

I bought a loop bristle with brush from Sally Beauty that I use on my guys’ and gal’s wigs. It works real nice with rarely any hair falling out.
