WM is slipping. Bad. This was the worst packing job I’ve ever seen. I’ve bought $600 clones that were packed better than this $2000+ doll. When I opened the box I almost threw up. Not to mention, the shipper dropped her on her neck and completely screwed up the skeleton. Bent the neck all the way around into the TPE. You can see how far her feet are from the edge of the box. And you can see how bloated her torso looks because of the impact. Not even any padding at the neck end of the box so it busted right through the cardboard when it hit. No “this side up” or “do not stand upright” labels on the box whatsoever this time. No styrofoam foot booties to protect the feet either.
And... I also noticed that this doll looks different than the last WM 168E I got from them just a few months ago. The shoulders are narrower (I did not order the shrugging shoulders, nor did I last time), and her hips/ass are definitely not the same. There’s a reason I bought a second one of these dammit! I wish they would quit screwing with their specs without telling the rest of the world about it. Second time that’s happened to me. I notified the vendor about the damage and they are going to get back to me ASAP on the situation. Also, but not of as much importance, the pink blanket that came with her is about a third of the size of the other two I got with my previous WM’s. It’s barely a baby blanket. More like a bath towel. I was considering getting a 172G, but the direction WM is heading, I am seriously rethinking it. Thank God the vendor I went through is honorable. You would think with the money they charge for these, they would pack for bear.

Oh man!! Sorry to hear and see this! I hope they will send you another one, or at least, give you a refund. That poor doll is surely ruined.

OMG, indeed. I understand the excitement and anticipation involved in the delivery of a new doll companion and this must have been one hell of a shock. I would be absolutely crestfallen. I hope that the vendor and WM replace this doll outright without shipping charges and get it right next time. It's not even about the money, it's about respect.

Holy shit!! That looks like a packing nightmare. That is just carelessness on the part of wm and the shipping company. Hope you get this resolved.....

Crap that sucks! Customs left my dolls hands unwrapped and I almost had a heart attack. This is unbelievable the state that doll is in!

I've long been disappointed in the quality of packing for most manufacturers.
Occasionally, we will see exceptional packing. In my mind the dolls should be packed in a box several inches wider and longer. A full body styrofoam should surround the doll. Vendors like Peak Packaging can customize solutions

The doll should be packed so even if dropped on any side or her head it won't matter.
$2,000 dolls should be packed like $2,000 dolls, not $500 dolls.

Yeah, just a year ago my WM came incredibly well packed. I was quite impressed and it wasn't even an expensive doll. This though, is absolutely ridiculous!

Thank you everyone for your concern. I’m still in shock/horror. Eating has been difficult ever since I opened the box. And yes, I do believe customs opened it. The UPS “over 70 pounds” label had been compromised. Why in the hell would they do that for something this size? It’s obviously not a child…Don’t they have x-ray equipment!!?? I know the technology exists…
And even if the doll arrived unscathed, it is still not the same as the 168E model I have.
Which is the one I wanted. I have one in light skin I wanted one in darker tan.
I am confident the vendor will resolve this for me. It’s the only thing keeping my sanity.

Hard to say. Could be something to do with paperwork of just customs randomly opening shit. I've had very small items opened and big stuff left completely alone. One constant though, when they do open something, they never get it back in the box right nor except responsibility for damage.

I’m thinking this was a combo platter. Shitty packing to begin with, then shitty customs handlers, and way shitty shipping handlers to finish her off.

What a mess, you have my sympathy
I swear, it seems like customs leave them vulnerable like this so they will be damaged before arrival!
