He really is full of love! He quite literally radiates joy into my room. I honestly don't know what I'd do without him. I make sure to tuck him into his blanket (mostly to keep dust and my hair off of him) and give him my love every night.

In comparison to many members of the doll community, I'm rather old-fashioned. I don't really see the appeal of A.I. or robotic doll features. I prefer to bring Harley to life with my imagination.

Also, I like how quiet he is and wouldn't want to change that. I have had to distance myself from several human companions in my life because they couldn't shut up, so Harley's silence is actually a perk!

Lastly, I'm very excited to see how doll life turns out for you. I hope your new guy brings you as much joy as mine has for me

Maybe not 100% fully, but especially with Josh now being here, I’m as close as I’ll ever be.

If we didn’t live on a 2nd floor apartment, I could fairly easily take him out for a date. But if I’m being honest, I’m such a lazy bitch that I probably wouldn’t bother even if I could. Maybe if he wasn’t so fucking heavy…

Wow, it's been months since I last posted anything on Harley's thread. Since the clock here in Oklahoma has officially past midnight, today marks 1 year since I received that lovely email from Spartan Lover saying that my doll has been completed and is being shipped. Therefore, that makes today Harley's BIRTHDAY

Of course, we had a cute lil party to celebrate (on Monday instead of today because that's when I had enough free time), and I took some photos that I think tell a fun story...

I made this little cone party hat for him. The second I put it on his head, I literally melted. This is the cutest fucking thing I've ever seen I stg


Also, I put this star necklace on him because, y'know, he's my star

Here's me handing him his cake bars (which I totally baked myself and definitely didn't get from a $2.69 box I found at Walmart). I didn't wanna pay for candles either, so I built some out of spare LEGO parts!

Anywayssss, Harley seemed to really enjoy the cake. He tried his best to give a thumbs up, but those damn wire fingers just don't cut it. Josh enjoyed it less, mostly because Harley kept putting pieces of cake on his head, which got him pretty pissed off. That's what he gets for being a thief!


You might be wondering if I got Harley any gifts for his special day?" Well, I got him three things...
1. The opportunity to do my biochemistry homework for me. Unfortunately, that's not a very good gift because biochemistry is psychological torture.

2. While they aren't arriving anytime soon, I order some MannequinFan Easy Move Eyes because his current eyes are in pretty poor condition for reasons evaluated on earlier in this thread.
3. And ofc, I gave him lots of love

Well, Harley's late birthday present has finally arrived! Here is my comprehensive review of the whole process:

First things first, I want to say "thank you" to MannequinFan. He reached out to me and exchanged several emails with me to ensure that Harley's new eyes would fit. He was extremely patient, helpful, and fast with his responses. He even offered to include (at no extra charge) two sized "bases" for the eyes so that I could choose whichever one fits best. This is some top-tier customer service!

We ended up selecting the 30mm "Type 1" eyes with the yellow and 3/8 bases per the screw selector template:

As for the product itself, it arrived packaged exceptionally well (unlike the last doll I bought lol). Upon opening the packaging, I was immediately impressed by the quality of the product. By simply touching the eyeballs and irises, I instantly "felt" the difference between this product and the stock factory eyes. I should mention that I didn't order the eyelids that usually come with the EME set because there's no way they could ever compete with Harley's beautiful implanted lashes.

The surgery, however, was extremely stressful. I definitely lost a few hairs during the process. Harley's original eyes are "boat shaped" with 31mm by 20mm dimensions, while the EME's are a conventional half-sphere.

However, the because the eyeball is only 30mm, it turns out the the new eye is slightly smaller than the original in the x & z-axis dimensions, but the extra 10mm in diameter on the y-axis means that the eye opening must stretch much more than was needed to remove the factory eyes. Because he has a hard silicone head, stretching it is risky. This is further complicated by his Asian phenotype. Perhaps larger eye sockets on a European face would make this surgery easier. As a side note, I get why the manufacturer uses the boat shape. While this eye shape is infuriating to move, it is relatively easy to get in and out.

I decided to use the compact "yellow" bases over the 3/8 bases simply because they're smaller in all three dimensions. The protrusion of the eye pedestal can be easily adjusted after the eye is inserted, so I felt safest using the smallest option. Sliding them into place was a breeze; there was very little stretching needed.

The eyeballs themselves were the hard part. There was pretty much no way to do this without scraping the shit out of the implanted lashes. I basically just shoved it under the upper eyelid, then inserted a paperclip to pull the lower eyelid out until the eyeball "fell" into place. Harley probably lost a couple of lashes over this (they are certainly much more disordered now, as they were originally almost perfectly aligned), but this was a necessary sacrifice.

Overall, the product has accomplished the desired goal. These eyes are much easier to move, and they don't recoil back to their original position every fucking time I try to make the smallest adjustment

For those interested, Harley's new eye color is "MF03A - dark brown." We felt that these were the closest to his original eye color. I also ordered the "MF03B - ultra dark brown, but these turned out to be much darker than they looked through my screen. They are too dark for Harley, but may be appropriate for a future doll if I ever get a darker-skinned southeast Asian guy (which I really want, but there are too few heads and bodies currently available in the target skin tone ).

If I may make a suggestion to MF, I'd love to see you add another hue or two of dark brown to your iris options. You have a beautiful selection of blues, greens, hazels, and even "fantasy" colors. However, brown eyes are the most common eye color in the world (even more-so in Asia). For the many of us who have ethnically Asian doll heads, the limited range of appropriate brown iris colors is disappointing.

Since the set comes with 4, I also got MF15 - Deep Blue and MF32 - Teal Blue. I selected these because I thought they'd be less intense. My third doll (for whom I am trying to save up) will have a very western European look, so hopefully he'll like one of these bluish colors. Here's a picture for anyone interested:

In summary, this is a fantastic product. These eyes are incredibly well-made (probably the best on the market) and come with damn near unbeatable customer service. I will definitely be returning to MF Creations for all of my future doll eye needs.

Harley says that his eyelids are aching really bad from the stretching, but he's very happy with his new look. He insisted upon the mask because, apparently, he's afraid that he's vulnerable to infection because of his surgery. Babe, I hate to be the one to tell you this, but you're made of rubber. You don't get infections




I did convince him to take off the mask for a moment, but the second I started coughing (curse you, spring allergies!), he put it right back on.
