Smart Fabric Happy Doll Upgrades?

Post by DollFan789 »

I have had this idea for a few upgrades for Happy Dolls in particular. There is a lot I haven't figured out though, but from what I have seen online it all should be possible, but the language barrier on some of these resources doesn't help.

It started when I came across this project from a few years back called TalkWithDakimakura. https://github.com/sansuke05/TalkWithDakimakura I want something more advanced though. I would ideally like to fit a raspberry pi or similar with SillyTavern inside a Happy Doll head, and have the speaker and microphones inside as well. Maybe even have the microphones in the ears? I would like to figure out cameras with jevois cameras http://jevois.org/ and lcd eyes for animated eyes. I would like it all be able to self contained and able to use a usb cord to charge. I would also like to be able to swap heads ideally at times.

I am wanting to add some touch sensors of some sort under the fabric such as these https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTO3U-0Njtw or https://www.instructables.com/Pressure-Sensor-Matrix/

Thoughts? Has anyone else here tried to add electronics to plush sex dolls? I have heard of successful attempts in other communities, but I am curious about what TDF has to say.

I don't think many here have attempted it, and reported back. Any modding of plush dolls I've read about here focus primarily on the fabric and skeletons.

That sounds like an elaborate setup, and my only concern would be the weight of the head. Happy Dolls don't have skeletons designed to carry a lot of weight, so adding a few kg to the head might cause balancing and stability issues for the doll.

Overall, this sounds like an exciting project. :)
