...and deeper down the 8 inch action figure rabbit hole we go
Don't know how many of you guys remember The Brady Bunch TV series, but the family had a maid named, Alice. Well, seems Mego made an 8 inch Alice figure and I found a nice example on eBay... as usual, dirt cheap! :D

Don't really have a thing for Alice, just thought she'd make a nice lady friend for, Willie. 8)

Well, a little further down the 8 inch rabbit hole we go!

Look what Elvez brought home from the Women's Junior College...
That's located in eBay county.

Meet Jo, from Mego's Facts of Life series.

Thanks! Toothpaste is a mild abrasive, similar to jewelers polish. No harsh chemicals though and a lot cheaper. Great for buffing dull paint and light scratches.

Seeing ShadowFun's work on a folded sunroof for his vintage VW Beetle RC, I decided to see if I could make one for my "Herbie the Love Bug" inspired Barbie Beetle.

So, some fabric from an old office chair, a couple Popcycle sticks, a bit of hot glue and voila! :D
I elected not to do so, but would not have been too hard to make this functional.

Thanks, guys. I had planned to make a closed panel to cover the gaping hole in the Barb car roof, but never got around to to it. It's when I saw ShadowFun's RC beetle and his plan to do a folded back roof, I got inspired. Didn't do much work on it though, until I came across the remnants of an old office chair I had laying around. I picked the thing up and well, the little rusty wheels started turning in my head.

Next thing you know, I'm ripping the fabric off, cutting it to size and ironing in the folds. That part was pretty easy. The fabric looks like burlap with some sort of plastic coating. When you take an iron to it, it gets tacky and sticks to itself. Perfect! Folded the edges over, added 3 pleats, done. Steamed and bent a couple popcycle sticks to the curve of the roof, glued them to the underside for support and wedged it in place. 8)

Ha, did it! Told you it wouldn't be hard to make it functional. :D
Well... not really. Just made a separate closed roof. No popcycle sticks this time though. I used toothpicks!

Nicely done! 👏

I hope to make some progress on my own sunroof today. Of course, being the gif master you are… I’d imagine it’ll be just a matter of time before your ladies DEMAND
a functional sunroof.

Just sayin’…

:haha4:
