Instead of waiting for a shorter, Western-proportioned body, you could mix Maria/Della with the Asian bodies currently available.
The 158cm only weighs 30kg/66lbs.
The 172 and 173cm bodies weigh 36kg/79lbs.
They released a 157 cm (29 kg) which seems to have a more "western silhouette" than the 158 B.
I would like to see if Maria's head is compatible with this new body.

Oh yeah, I always forget about the 157E. It was available before Maria and Della, however, so it's still designed for Asian heads.
The main difference (this isn't my opinion, but based on what Fanreal's chosen to depict) between Asian and Western bodies is shoulder and hip width. So if you can tolerate having a Western head on a body with narrow shoulders, then it's really not an issue.

Because the head is new, it turns out Fanreal won’t sell it as a stand alone. In an example of the amazing customer service Mia from yourdoll.com provides, she contacted the factory and got me a video of the Maria head on the 158cm body within hours of me emailing. The skin tones are what they had, so not a match, but I don’t think it looks bad. Now considering a whole new doll.
I'm quoting the above for anybody who wants to see what Maria looks like on a smaller body.
Edit: Oops, I thought the attachment would be quoted too. The short video clip showing Maria on the 158 is on the bottom of page 3.
I’ve noticed that Fanreal skintone never matches between the head and the neck in factory photos. It’s interesting. Member photos of the dolls, once they’re home in natural light, look perfect. Maybe they have lighting at the workshop that brings out yellow tones.

nah that photo is a screenshot from that video, and the head is in the shadow...
Even in the shadow the skin tone doesn't match.
The head doesn't match the body because somebody here requested a factory photo that showed Maria on a 158 body. As I keep mentioning, the latter's an Asian body and it's not a 'standard' combination.
The people at the factory, if I had to guess, didn't have any pale skin Marias in stock at the time. This was before the lighter skinned versions were made public.
They probably just stuck a tanned Maria head on the standard pale body 158. Mystery solved.
