Adjustable Head Connector Mini Review.
Adjustable Head Connector Mini Review.
Well here it is: I wasn't even sure it would fit which is something I probably should have checked first, but it does.
I wanted to fit this on my favourite doll head, but I just can't get the default screw for that doll out of it. You need to remove the doll head screw to place the connector.
So I used my spare doll head that I have. I don't like this head as much so barely use it, but thankfully it allowed me to use this head Connector as its default screw easily comes out. First pop in neck then sit head on it seems the way...
So I put the Connector on her neck and connected spare head. Clipped right on real easy. No swivelling her round and round which always looked a bit creepy.
I can now adjust her head without any need to bend her gooseneck or back to get her head to move. It also allows angled movements. See pics. Ignore the Marylyn wig, it's just a placeholder hairdo I'm working on. I have a lot to learn about making that style look right.lol.
Anyway...
Please make smaller if too large, Mods.
Ok I think that'll do.
You have to make sure her head is properly down on the connector or it will comically pop off when you try adjusting it, which can be a little shocking at first! Also it feels a little more 'loose' than the rigidness of the default screw.
Pretty good and really adds that extra bit of realism and immersion. I look forward to trying this on my proper doll head when I can get her default screw out!
Oh and thanks to Adam.
p.s Edit: I just noticed, there's an allen-key hole at the bottom of the connector, perhaps for loosening or tightening it. I will have to test that!
Re: Adjustable Head Connector Mini Review.
Does this connector has any impact on the neck seam whatsoever? I believe that if the head gets tilted, there probably be some gap at the opposite side.
Re: Adjustable Head Connector Mini Review.
No impact in any negative that I can see. The neck on my doll is quite high so as long as you screw it down enough there's no gap. I would test this further, but I am now in the middle of pouring JB Weld down my doll's neck!schmoll42 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 08, 2023 10:34 am Super interesting review, I was considering this connector for my brand new doll. I just wanted to wait her to pass the customs before buying stuff for her (we never know).

I have just noticed there's an allen key fitting to the bottom of the connector, probably for tightening the ball bearings for a more snug fit. I will have to test that!

Yea. You can't move it with your hands cos I guess we don't have the leverage? But when you connect the head you can then move it about. I suppose it would be too weak to hold up a doll head angled otherwise.Justinpassinthru wrote: ↑Sat Jul 08, 2023 8:01 pm I bought one directly from SE but I haven't tried it out yet. I'm waiting on my new girl to get here to try it out. They feel incredibly tight, so much so that I can't wobble the head connector at all. Is it easier to pose once the head is attached, or will I need to loosen the bearings first?

Re: Adjustable Head Connector Mini Review.
Thank you Socratus !! I just did surgery on my doll's broken gooseneck and now her neck does not move at all but at least she can sit up again. This will hopefully restore some movement to her neck again ! Much obliged!Socratus wrote: ↑Sun Jul 09, 2023 6:36 amYea. You can't move it with your hands cos I guess we don't have the leverage? Oh yea, it will definitely help you on that. Just make sure the default screw isn't stuck in the doll head. lol.
