Thanks for dropping a line. Yes you are correct. I did employ one of my tripods for that shot!
I wouldn't even attempt a shot like that hand held. A 2.5 sec. Exposure would be near impossible to keep steady.
I shot it at f/1.4, ISO 100, 2.5 sec. with my Sigma 50mm prime. I did crop it a bit in post however.

I have actually used these candles before but not exclusively like this one, in a shot of
Honey!
I cannot even remember ever shooting anything but full manual.
I'm sure I must have but if I did, I must have disliked the results.
