Back to the old software and database but 6 day's posts lost

Hi all,

The new stuff did not work as it should.
The issues:

-Private messages did not arrive.
-Post does not exist messages when browsing trough threads.
-People getting SQL errors
-Member gallery did not work as it should.

I had made a hotcopy of the database before the move.
I've restored that one, and I've replaced the original software.
I'am very sorry for the inconenience but I'am very affraid that we would end with a not working board if I hadn't cause the database got more and more corrupted.
Everything should work as good as before last friday cause the old software and database are in place again.

Oh man, I'm glad we're back to the old format here.. I don't know what happened, but I couldn't post, send instant messages, or log back in after I logged out with the changes to the forum.. I couldn't see any of the toolbar on the right side either. I kept getting MySQL errors with everything I tried to do except read posts.

Hi Aire,

It was strange, because it seemed to work very well on the test server.
But "under load" it did only bad.

Hi mytime, sorry the software did not work well. Oh well, at least the bugs should be gone now.....in the bigger scheme of things, all is well. Poet

First of all, I want you to know I think you are a very good Administrator and I respect your work.
Over 25 years ago, I was a mainframe operator with sites throughout the U.S. and we would occasionally need to do a complete restore because of a disk failure and/or a software error caused by a bad upgrade. We were able to get most of the transactions since the last backup added again by means of Transaction Processing, but people still had to check to make sure their last transactions had been applied. I believe that MySQL has Transaction Processing capabilites in the latest version, but you don't need to be concerned about it until it is fully supported by the applications using MySQL.

I recommend all TDF members who post keep a personal record of their input in case something like this occurs. I have my input during the last 8 days saved it to a text file in a Notebook on Google http://www.google.com/notebook/. I can access my Notebook(s) from anywhere in the world with Internet access.

G'day everyone,......

Just a heads up on the last few days,......

2 days ago everything was fine exept I could not up-load pictures into my Members Gallery,.....
I then posted a thread here in Help section and Inkling said somthing had been changed,..
YesterdayI was able to upload my pictures into my Gallery.
Today I find the posts I made the last 2 days are now gone,.....
And my Gallery is empty and I once again cannot up-load pictures into it again.

I see this is nothing but an isue of timeing from my perspective but could someone re-help me in reguard to up-loading pictures into my Members Gallery again?
