some tips regarding handling with heavier dolls will be really appreciated because I will soon have these kind of "problems". I'm especially interested in Booberella because I will have the same doll. It can be only written tips if you don't have time to make video.

Thanks for your effort

Hey.

I have been thinking about making a "lifting Booberella" video. But when I carry her into the shower, I tend to lift her out of bed in a very strange and odd way, not sure how insane it would look on camera. 8O Since I shower her in the standing position, I have to carry her into the shower in the standing position. What I do is, I have her lying on her back in bed, I get in underneath her, so that she's lying on top of me. Then I raise her upper body up high above me, then gently place her feet on the floor and lean her carefully forwards. When she's standing up, I wrap one arm around her waist and with my other hand I grab her by the pussy, in order to lift her and carry her off to the bathroom. That way, I can hold my back straight the entire time. I can only imagine that his looks very weird if I made a video showing my technique. I'm not sure I would recommend this technique, but it does work well for me.

When I carry Booberella out of bed, to place her in my chair in a sitting position. I do it very differently. I place her in a sitting position on the edge of the bed first, then lean her entire body backwards, so that I can get one arm under her thighs and the other one on her lower back. It's important to hold her close to your body and to not damage her hand which is now pressed against your chest. So you move her arm so that it doesn't get in your way - and you do this before you attempt to lift her. Try to lift with your legs if you can. It's very difficult from certain angles and positions, but you really should try to save your back... I have back problems and it's no picnic. :|

It takes a while to learn how to lift and carry them correctly. It will take some practice. Just be very careful both with her and your back, also plan your moves. Pretend that you are carrying her before you actually do it... see if anything will get in your way. If there's a door that needs to be opened or whatever. Because once you lift her, you can't stop along the way to open a door. It's not gonna work very well. :)

I'm still considering making a "lift and carry" video of some sort, but I can't figure out a good way to do it yet. I hope my explanation helped some at least. I know that there are videos here on the forum where other members have showed how to carry dolls. If you try the search engine in the upper right corner, you might be lucky and find some of them.

Good luck with your new doll. If you have more questions, I can try to answer them too.

Hi

I thought exactly about same technique except lifting her laying on me. Good to have some tip for start. Also I have bathtub and not a shower so this will be also tricky move but I have some idea how to deal with it and I'm doing some preparation steps before she arrives.

I try to lift box full of PET bottles with same weight as doll and I must admit it's pretty heavy! But now I know what will come and I will not be surprised at first day.

The other thing which I was afraid with lifting the doll is making some tears in her skin because I have only little idea how resistant or prone to damage it is.

In that case, I would suggest sitting her down on her ass. But fold a blanket a couple of times and place it under her ass, so that she is sitting on a soft surface the entire time. Also, if she has standing foot option, make sure you don't let those metal bolts under her foot scratch the hell out of your bathtub.
Boobsessed wrote:I try to lift box full of PET bottles with same weight as doll and I must admit it's pretty heavy! But now I know what will come and I will not be surprised at first day.
Just remember that dolls are "dead weight" and the weight is distributed over her entire body. If you lift a box, the weight will be confined to a smaller point, if you know how I mean. And if you lift a human being that weighs 35,5KG, they will "help" with their body, unless they are unconscious... that's pretty much how it feels to lift a doll, like lifting an unconscious but very stiff person. They don't "help out" at all, it's dead weight.

This is something I am very careful with as well. When a doll is not properly powdered, there will be friction when you slide your hands on her skin. Sometimes when I lift Booberella, I can feel that friction on my arm as I carry her. It worries me. I keep thinking that her skin will tear open, but it has not done that yet anyway. That shouldn't happen to your doll. But if it did, you can most likely fix it with TPE glue, so it wouldn't be the end of the world, it would just be somewhat horrible to have to experience. 8O

New post: Showering Vanessa - Step by step

A picture guide of how I shower my Vanessa. She does not have standing foot option, so she has to sit and lie down while being showered. Will make another similar picture guide for showering Booberella, since she has standing foot option and therefore stand up in the shower. Hope you get some tips from this. If there is anything you feel that I left out or forgot, let me know.

a great guide. definitely helpful to show how its done. your shower is quite larger than mine though so i have to use a crate to sit them on. then i was the back of the legs and butt by cloth when they are laying on my bed.

as for getting oil inside i have a spray bottle that puts out a fine mist that i got from a hair salon when it was on special, yeah, yeah im a cheap skate :) . a few squirts inside puts an even coating all over.

Hi Dolly

thanks for guide. You made it just in time, I will need it very very soon! :)

As bathtub protection I have bought rubber plate in JYSK so it serves as protection and anti slippery. How stable is doll when you let her stand leaning with hands by wall like this and wash her?

Image

(but more upright and with legs more spread of course!)

Will it be stable and will the wrists do it or there is risk of damage?

Thanks

I would not recommend that stance, even if she is standing more upright. Her wrists could probably take damage if you lean the entire doll weight on them. And I can't imagine that it would be too steady either. When you soap her up, you will move your hands all over her, causing small movements in her body. :| I try to avoid raising her arms like that at all, since it causes stress on the skin in her armpits. So I advice you to figure out some other position to put her in for showers. If you have a bathtub, it might be better to have her sitting down, actually. I don't have a bathtub myself, so I don't have any personal experience with that. I can imagine that it's very hard to safely put the doll into the bathtub in a seated position, or lift her out of there, without hurting your back. Some people shower their doll while having her sitting in a chair, you might wanna look into that.

when i do shower mine i sit them on a plastic crate. my shower is small and has a high ledge to step over. very dangerous and something i avoid. if i could i would love to mount a hook in the roof to suspend them from. would make life so much easier.

New post: Feet!

Something for the foot fetishist. Some pictures of doll feet with suggestions.

Yeah, you don't want to be stepping over any ledges with a big heavy doll in your hands. 8O

And a hook sounds like a good option, provided that you can hang them up without damaging them.

New post: What they are not telling you

I wrote an article about things you should know before you order your doll (as a beginner of course). Options which you may not know about or which simply are not presented on the vendor's website.

If there are any available options you think I should have included in the article, feel free to tell me and I might add it. This article - just like most things on my blog - is for helping our future doll owners after all. Any opinions or objections are welcome as well, just keep it civil.

I haven't posted anything in 2 months. I have been busy lately and haven't had the time, but I have not abandoned my blog, just so you know.
