Topic does not exist

Post by mytime »

Hi All,

Some counters have set upside down, I think probably due to a faulty patch I've had installed on TDF on saturday (thing is removed now)
We've some threads that are not correct any more (counter counts more posts than actually in the thread).
We're on the software without the patch now.
I've done a test with a new thread (made 16 posts in a test thread) and this goes OK (after 15 th post you get a new page).
I think everything is ok for threads where is not in posted during saturday (damned patch).
Other threads we've to go to just the page before the end else we get the "topic does not exist"
Maybe it can be corrected in the mysql database, then I've to find out where that figure "number of post in thread" is stored, and change it manually.
For time being, just go to previous page in thread and there you'll find your post and can do your reply.

I am getting this when I go through the second stage of uploading pics to the album; after they are uploaded and I am assigning them to an album and adding the captions and so on:
Critical error

Script called without the required parameter(s).

Everhard only the forum had some problems. We didn´t touch the Doll Album at all while updating the Forum.
I will look for the failure in the Doll Album as you said in your post.

EDIT: Everhard how lang was the text that you gave in for the Pic?
I have found out it has to do with some thing a "long arrays"

Well, I went back in and found that the pictures had uploaded okay and even the captions were there. So maybe it was one of those strange glitches. :?

Hi All,

I've reproduced the error on the test computer.
I think I know wat is wrong and how to correct it.
I'll repair the "broken threads" this evening.

That thread still seems to be broken, at least when I tried to access it a couple of minutes ago.

Thanks for all your effort on trying to keep the ship afloat - having had some experience fixing and maintaining databases, I know how frustrating it can be. I'd volunteer to help, but I know nothing about PHP or MySQL - the world I live in is all Oracle...

Hi Clocks,

Thats correct, the wrong number of posts comes back from somewhere and comes into the db again.
This causes the error. There are 498 reply's and 1 post in the Teddybabes tread until Cicken Noodles post on page 34 not 515 thats wrong, but the wrong number does come back from somewhere.

Hi Mytime,

Do you have access to the actual SQL code. or is it all of that hidden from you? If you have access to the SQL, maybe an extra set of eyes will be able to help figure out what's going on.

Based on what you said about the wrong number coming back from somewhere, it sounds like they've either got stuff hidden in a table you're not aware of, or there's some sort of session variables that won't go away unless you restart the database...
