Re: New owner of Barbie/Shannon model
To you guys who have bought her from them..
1) Is iamdollusa.com good at keeping communications open in the event that you needed support or assistance for doll related issues?
2) Have any of you found ways of discretely storing large dolls like her? (Duffle bags, large carry-cases, etc)
3) Is finding clothes for the Shannon doll as difficult as I've read it is?
4) Any advice you'd like to offer to a first time buyer who's already decided to go with Shannon as their first doll purchase?
5) Have any of you had any issues with the Shannon doll specifically? (Is she worth it?)
Thanks for your replies.

I made no communication with them beyond purchasing.

I keep her under my bed in the same box she arrived in. I have not needed discreet storage yet.

This thing has a 16.5 in waist. Totally unrealistic, but totally fun. Clothes are really difficult. I use safety pins in just about all my pics to make clothes look like they fit. However the red mesh outfit was so freaking tiny that it fits great.
4) Any advice you'd like to offer to a first time buyer who's already decided to go with Shannon as their first doll purchase?
The doll weighs 65 lbs. Does not sound like much, but was more difficult to deal with than I thought it would be. It took me a while to get used to moving it around.

The fingers are the weakest link here. They are not articulated. There is a thin wire running thru each finger. They can get easily bent and twisted. I think I have read elsewhere that the newer models have thicker wire.
The joints will loosen up over time. The knees are starting to move when pose her... other joints may not be too far behind. I expect that over time she will get to the point where I will be limited in the poses I can do.
I personally really like the fantasy shape of this doll. Even though clothes are a real pain. I also think the stock head is one the best faces available.
Thanks for your replies.

Thanks Stones... Nothing bad. Just keeping busy doing other stuff.stones wrote:She still looks beautiful. Hope it wasn't something bad that kept her away from you.
I am going back to the archives for some pics. Here is one I took last fall that I never posted... along with a version where I perfomed some Photoshop plastic surgery.
