Introducing (another) Sophie!
Introducing (another) Sophie!
The poor dear has endured quite a journey to get home. I hope she won't have nightmares.
She arrived in a big black package:
Her packing had sustained some damage during transit, leaving a sizeable hole. UPS kindly wrapped her up in black sticky stuff.
The outer carton was damp and still wet in places, the inner carton mostly dry. Her lovely soft fluffy pink blanket was decidedly wet in places, so had to be hung up to dry.
That's enough about packaging.
Her hands survived intact:
As for her feet, however, they don't look so good:
Unwrapped and ready to dazzle:
I clearly need to work on my wig-alignment skills.
Accessories: TPE Glue, stain remover, TPE Test piece, handling gloves, simple outfit, second wig (#5), irrigator and lipstick (which I found later)
Cont'd/..

Finally, all dressed up in jumper dress, and sparkly trainers. She was quite insistent about making sure the shoes were in the photo.

Its already been requested many times that the boxes have more prominent "This Side Up" labels, but some "Do Not Get Wet" labels wouldn't hurt either.

Sealing the carton in plastic would not hurt either, my doll did come in plastic wrap on all sides taped to the box when it was shipped, not after they used it as a floor sponge etc.JunkGuy wrote:Please check your doll for -any- discoloration. Another member had a doll delivered some months ago that had a wet box, and apparently there was motor oil in the puddle that had seeped through the box and into the doll's TPE, permanently ruining it.

She looks especially hot on the toilet, nice pic.Jesphel wrote:Meanwhile, Sophie had snuck off to the bathroom. I guess you need the lavatory after crossing your legs for two weeks!

Youch, wouldn't like motor oil on my honey!JunkGuy wrote:Please check your doll for -any- discoloration. I'm pleased to report that her feet and "socks" were dry. I can't see any discolouration anywhere.
I think some "FRAGILE" and "HEAVY!!!" labels would also be beneficial.

She is surprisingly mesmerising close-up.
RLSD have contacted me regarding the feet. It does not appear to be difficult to rectify, but I know how useless I can be with anything even vaguely mechanical. So will have to ensure I have plenty of time to sort it out.
