Interesting

The Jinsan factory for YL WM and OR use metal for the feet.

Are the Racyme feet hinged - can they bend?

In the past I have assumed Racyme to make cheap knock-off copies but it's great to know that people are getting good ones.

This is what I'd like to know. It feels like a hinge some. I'd want to know what sort of stress the ankle joint would suffer. It's why I'd want to get a look at how the foot plate is fastened to the ankle and leg. snipping TPE and having a peek is the only way. Once doing that, may just be committed to doing a standing customization

Thinking that Racyme might have improved and been recommendable I looked at their website. It's great to know their doll is good enough in practice but they are a load of dishonest sh*ts, referring all the time to Silicone . . . oh yes it's Silicone TPE, my foot, and using the famous Mandos photos of a WM140 as theirs and their own doll. Dishonest b*stards.

Sorry - irrelevant to your thread which is excellent, but appropriate to mention as a footnote (forgive the pun) on the brand.

This is a great mod that I will be trying soon. I have had Julia for just over a month and the bottoms of both her feet are getting pretty rough. I did not have any ideas about fixing the small holes that have worn through her heels but this is just the remedy needed. I can see fiberglass through the hole so it should be easy peasy lemon squeezy to get Julia back on her feet, pun intended. Just another reason why TDF and its members are awesome. Thanks

Another idea as far as creating non slip. water proof foot "buttons" (They look like buttons)

. Is coating them with a spray on rocker guard coating.
This stuff will stick to almost anything. Has a textured finish. is rubbery, and waterproof. It wont peel off once it's on. Durable as well.
It comes in a fair size can, more than you'd ever need if you cannot find another use for it.
If or when the time comes, to do this mod, Have an old can of it, may as well use it.

Looking at this from an Ebay doll, from another post. Noticing how the foot is made. I'm wondering if a Fiberglass resin is put on this to make up the foot.
I'd not trust that to hold up any weight. I believe this was a 100cm doll.
Starting to trust my gut feeling here

Another good reason to read old posts. I'd not trust that to hold her much. Next thing ya know she falls and busts off her head. Would have to modify it completely to be strong.

Damn! That seriously sucks, RGC_0767. You'd have to construct an entire foot plate, ankle joint down before you could even install the glides.

That doll frame sitting on top of the Marshall amps, give me the clue. I believe her foot is made the same way as TDFNoob's lady. I can feel the round on the heel and a bit of that flex covered wire in ankle. Movement is that of wire. More wires to break

I've never attempted to stand her. Wise decision thankfully.

I'd have to slice the sole of foot some, peel TPE up the calf. And install an invention. LOL Quite doable.
I have to weigh out all possibilities of failure of the knees and hips. Hips are already loose. Knees are okay for now.
Fix one problem, create new ones.

I like her feet, they're cute

Not about to butcher them.

Just more info with this as far as cheaper dolls. and how they are made. The TPE is quite impressive, and has held up good so far, so it's not all negative.

Until I decide to tackle, will put this photo in the archive. Non standing foot "bone" is nowhere near as thick as this. That's decent quality.
