How to smooth out silicone? can hotknife it?

Post by smallcat »

I wanted to smooth out some little imperfections on my zone dolls, like little indents or small nail indent type, I've seen these type of indents on other doll owners as well, just found the indents little annoying. Reminded me how people can fix tpe dolls with hotknife.

Is there a possible way of going about it.

I wouldn't recommend it.

What you want is some actual silicone, Dragon-FX from Smooth-on is great for this and what I would personally recommend). If only very small amounts you could get away with Sil-poxy or even permaflex flowable pigmented accordingly either with makeup powder or actual colouring (such as Smooth-ons Silc-Pig or Psycho Paint).

Apply thinly and build up the layers is better than a large blob...but this depends on the size of the area you need to fill. This also allows you to do base layers clear and then just top layers coloured to the skin.
