My Youtube Makeup Tutorial

Post by Mishka1965 »

I had quite a few requests for how I apply make-up to dolls, and so finally came around to making one.
It's a but funny, and it's my doll that's doing the narrative.

Please remember, I made many mistakes earlier on to perfect the method, and took ideas from my wife, who really helped from a woman's point of view.
I do not discuss what manufacturer's products to use, since I found them about the same. These are cheap and work fine.

Some examples of results you can achieve with my method.

Excellent tutorial, Mishka.

Wow Mishka ... I was looking for this for A LONG TIME.

Thank you so much. You are the man!!! I would like a sticky on this!!!

I was wondering. Are you removing the makeup after each photo-shoot, or you leave it on for few hours/days?

If you are bored, a video on the makeup removal stage would be awesome as well.

Good work :)

Hey Mishka, would you remember the threading size of the neck bolt? Your stand idea is great!

The M16 thread X 2 pitch ,
This can be bought from Amazon.

It was a simple solid steel rod to which I mig welded the bold and base.

Fun project

I leave it on, but never had any permanent staining from reds either. Ponds makeup remover works the best for me but it will also remove the factory color too.
Regarding tan heads, these do not need foundation, only blush. Qtips can also be used to apply stuff.

So one time I finished the make up, and I decided to do some kissing when I noticed that I got lipstick on my face and all over my shirt and the wife noticed and wondered where it came from. I told her it was just from carrying the doll around. But I suspect she knows what was going on..lol

Wow very nice. I am a big fan of light makeup and you do it very very well.

I am not usually a fan of visible eye shadow but the super thin and well blended lines you do look amazing. Like a high fashion model or pop star or something.

also I like that you used foundation, I suspect that makes it a lot easier to control how much makeup goes on the doll, since the foundation covers up the TPE and makes it less 'grabby' of the makeup?

not going overboard with makeup is a very hard lesson for some to learn and they should take note of your make up jobs.. I think make up should not try and draw attention but simply improve what is already there and you did an amazing job at that.
Every day people remind me why I like dolls better.

I enjoyed your make-up tutorial. It did surprise me the finishing touch was BB powder. I understand using BB powder for the shine. It's just on the face, I thought a little more foundation would have been used to remove shine on a finished face. Just guessing here, cause I'm totally new at this stuff.

Yes, that does work, but I discovered extra foundation absorbs light in certain wavelengths that gives a very dark appearance under flash lighting and higher Kelvin light. I ruined a few photo shoots because of this. It looks good, but under camera lighting, it's a huge issue. This is the reason for baby powder.
On d's dolls, this is hugely important due to their silicone formula and to reduce shine.

Thank you very much for taking the time to do this for us. I've been struggling to figure out how to do make up for my doll and this should prove to be extremely helpful. I know what I'll be doing Friday night.

Really good, I like learning new make up tips and these will help. I always wondered how they got that shine on the lips and it seems I was getting the wrong type of lip gloss, i'll get some extra stuff now that I have seen this.

. One vendor name kept coming up as being great at helping customers walk through the process, Booty Call Dolls. So I decided I would work with them on this first purchase, and did.

Hi Mishka, Thanks so much for explaining the use of baby powder vs. foundation in some conditions. I think we all learned a little more right there. Did I mention your girls look great, cause they sure do!
