Re: Care and Maintenance Tips
I have a TPE doll. I understand that I shouldn't oil her too often. But what happens if I don't give her any oil-baths at all. Not even once every two months, as you do Arthur1960.
I guess my core question is, do TPE dolls need to be oiled occasionally, with something like baby oil?
This is all a new world to me. But a very exciting and interesting one.

Re: Care and Maintenance Tips
That's great advice, Charlie, thanks. Since this is my first doll and I've had her only two days I'm trying to learn as much as possible about keeping her clean, safe, and happy. I used baby powder the first time, but I'll use corn starch from now on and try the sock method of applying it.CharlieWone wrote:Hey Brat,
Don't sweat it too much, you have not made any fatal moves yet!
Your PIB girl can feel even more real if you powder her after cleaning
and drying her. I used to use baby powder, but once I tried corn starch
I have stayed with that, as it is a much finer powder. If your girl has the
"super soft" boobs option, I would not use baby or talcum powder, as they
can actually scratch the softer silicone if you rub too hard. For flavored body
powder, that you can lick off, try Urban Decay brand. I put the powder in a
long sock and tie up the end. Use that to pat her down, then spread it all over
with a makeup brush, or soft cloth. You will feel the difference as you apply it,
and will know when you have enough on her, as she becomes smoother and there
is less drag on the brush. Once powdered, she will feel softer and more real,
and clothes will go on easier. Repeat every so often, as needed. Hope that helps!
Again, thanks.

Re: Care and Maintenance Tips
I figured it was worth reposting in this sticky thread.
If necessity is the mother of invention, then this probably ins't her most handsome child.
It IS effective, though.
$16 at Walmart for this Intex brand mattress inflator, plus a small length of tubing I had on hand, and then a small length of the insulation from a frayed old extension cord. (cleaned thoroughly, of course)
I wanted to ensure that air was indeed reaching the deepest recesses of the cavities being dried, and this does the job nicely.
Insert the extension cord portion in with the pump connected until you reach the bottom of the cavity, then back off about an inch.
Let the inflator run for 20ish minutes and voila.
