CinnamonLover's Oiling Video
For those of you who DO, several people have asked me about how I oil my girls, so I made a video.
Though the comments explain some things, here's the basics:
I use regular baby oil (the fewer the ingredients the better) and smooth it in with my hands (awwww yeah baby, I get the serious brownie points later for the massage - they all LOVE it!).
Then I use dryer sheets to immediately wipe off the excess oil and the sludge the oil lifts off the doll's skin. I prefer used dryer sheets and I keep them all for exactly that purpose, but sometimes I run out and use new dryer sheets like in this video. Basically the used sheets have a better consistency, but the new ones will leave behind a hint of their nice scent.
Why dryer sheets? 1) they're just the right material to slide over the oily skin, picking up the crap as they go. 2) They're freakishly cheap per sheet so I don't mind tossing them as I go.
This video is the first oiling right after Cinnamon (3.0) came out of the box. This is a newer TPE from WM and it's very soft.
I hear YouTube is clamping down on doll videos. I marked this as mature content and it hasn't been pulled yet but if the video goes down let me know and I'll get help editing this post and putting it up somewhere else.
Oiling Cinnamon for the First Time
I oil about once a week for the first two months, then once a month (as needed) the rest of the time. Every oiling is followed up by a powdering, but there are several good videos for that. I am partial to Don's video (MonAmour).

But why her fingers are floppy that way?
Did you remove the "bones" from them?

Re: CinnamonLover's Oiling Video
Yes, after my first two dolls went through significant finger trauma, I started ordering them without finger wires. Maybe I'm just tough on dolls, but the fingers are going to break. Then they sort of act floppy whether or not they really are, and stick out at all weird angles, and get finger pokes, and are just disheartening (at least to me) so I order them wireless to begin with so there's no finger poke shredding/damage.
I'm very happy. I haven't noticed much difference, to be honest - but then I don't take a lot of photos, I'm more about interacting with them.
I mention this in the "notes" of the video, but that's obscure. Glad to explain it here!

I did not know that it was even possible to order a doll with no fingers bones.
I will keep this in mind for my next purchase as Im struggling rebuilding the whole wrist/fingers area on mine atm

I plan on doing this in 1-2 weeks. Do you know how long he's gone for?Maviarab wrote:I don't believe CL does no...he lets the oil do that job for him. He currently away but sure he will confirm/correct when he gets the chance.

You do not actually need to oil her if you just got her.DollLyfe wrote:I plan on doing this in 1-2 weeks. Do you know how long he's gone for?Maviarab wrote:I don't believe CL does no...he lets the oil do that job for him. He currently away but sure he will confirm/correct when he gets the chance.
I do not know what type of dolly you got, but oiling a dolly should be only for cleaning. (Removing the black gunk and makeup)
I was also paranoid at first when I got my first doll and I oil her like crazy (And it is quite fun to do)
But it was useless,She wont start drying and cracking.
I havent oil mines for the past 6 months now and they are still fine.
