Re: Tpe peeling after heat repair
My Jy And AS do not have hand plates either. I heated the tpe on those dolls with a heat gun before (No solder yet) and it didnt peeled off.
Since that you do not know if it was a legit doll or a knockoff, I cannot help you more than this.
Get your 5 post in and post pictures of the peeling. Pics are worth a thousand words.

Hmmmm, to be honest, I have never seen something like this from your first pic on my dolls.
Was it a cheaper brand of doll you have gotten?
You still did not say where you got her.....

Re: Tpe peeling after heat repair
just a quick guess. Maybe the heat repair did bits of dry out the material letting the area becoming more porous. I´m short before some own TPE repairs on my doll and now I start thinking about if it makes sense to give the to be repaired area some intensive baby oil treatments or not. Hm... Got to try on less important area first I think.Nkk_noodle wrote:Finally got my 5 posts in so here is a photo of the peeling if i need to i can post more photos

The low detail on things and the color being "off" in places and generally very basic design. Almost like it wasn't fully detailed before shipping and an older model.
Don't get me wrong, this is not a bad thing.
It is just something you have to cope with and learn what you need to compromise on. The cheaper dolls have issues with their TPE getting abrasions and tearing. There should be a few posts on how to handle these in the repair section. I would suggest trying the search tool and spend an hour or so reading and watching some videos.
You might also want to powder her more regularly to avoid abrasions and making her feel smoother.
